What Is the Nearest Airport to the Retreat?
Hilo airport is about 45 minutes or so from the retreat and Kailua-Kona airport is around two hours to the retreat. I recommend staying at least a few extras days on the island to get a more immersive experience and adjust if you are flying in!
Are Flight and Transport Included?
No. Flights and transportation are not included. You are responsible for getting to and from the retreat. I will have a group you can join after signing up in case you are looking to carpool with another retreat attendee! You can also rent cars at both airports mentioned above, on Turo, etc.
Is There Wifi?
Yes, there is wifi provided! I also invite you to take this time to tune into the space around you and disconnect to reconnect! Feel free to bring journals, books, art supplies, tarot/oracle cards to help you reconnect to your inner-world:).
Can I Come To the Retreat Alone?
Of course! We welcome this and I have actually found this makes for an even richer experience at times! All rooms will be shared spaces so you will have time and the opportunity to connect with others during the retreat. You can also choose to take this time to have for you:).
I want to share a room with someone else, how do I do this?
This is totally possible. All of the rooms provided are double occupancy. Meaning two people to each room. If you would like to share with someone you know, please make sure you both book the same room. If this is not possible, please reach out to me and when can try to make this work!
I am new to yoga and meditation. Can I still join?
Of course! This retreat is for ALL LEVELS of experience and we welcome you wherever you are at in your journey!
Will yoga mats and props be provided?
Because we are staying at an airbnb and not a retreat center, there will be less mats and props provided than normal. But we will still make it work:). I am asking everyone to please bring your own yoga mat if you have one. If you do not, please let me know and I can bring an extra. Feel free to bring an straps, blocks, bolsters, and cushions you would like to use!
I have food allergies and dietary restrictions, can I still attend?
Of course! There will be a space for you to let us know what these are when you sign-up for the retreat! Please note: all meals will be served vegan on this retreat.
Can I bring alcohol and other substances?
To keep with the intention of rest, reconnecting, and relaxing, we are asking participants to leave any alcohol or substances at home for this retreat. Please message me if you have any concerns about this and need to bring something for medical reasons. We will provide coffee and tea!
We will have two yoga classes created for all levels of their yogic practice. These classes will include meditation, pranayama (breath), and moving through various asanas depending on the class style. We will most likely have one Yin (more slower-moving, postures held for longer) and a Vinyasa class (faster-moving, postures held for a shorter time).
We will have an opening and closing ceremony that consist of intention setting and getting clear on your WHY as well as what you are taking away from our time together. This may include sharing exercises with others, journaling, altar making, working with the elements, dancing, etc.
Sound healing ceremony: the wonderful Dani Love will be providing a beautiful sound healing experience for us on Saturday afternoon. This will be a time to really rest and relax into your spirit, your body, and into the present moment!
We will also have a workshop on relaxation, rejuvenation, and play and how to create more of this in your life as you leave the retreat space:).
Free time: you will have opportunities for free time that include getting to know some of your fellow retreat attendees, exploring Volcano Village, taking a walk around the property, engaging in your favorite relaxation activities such as reading, journaling, relaxing in your room, etc.
