Resounding the Soul?

The Soul did not want to incarnate, she was afraid of losing her vastness. Then the community made a circle, placed the Soul at the center and sang to her. Chanting, she became enchanted and the Soul incarnated in her body. Then, already in the body, the Soul perceived three things:

1. Being in the body, the Soul can sing

2. When she sings she resumes the vastness

3. The Soul is the singing itself

Just like this touching story, from the book The Sufi message of Hazrat Inayat Khan, we will create a sonorous and caring community to offer the necessary support for each participant to sing the song of their soul!

Resounding The Soul will happen through a co-composition of three simultaneous processes:

Mariana Marcassa will be your guide and facilitator in this immersive experience. Using somatic therapeutic processes, SE™ techniques and sound therapy, you will be invited to connect with the genuine power of your own voice and its relationship with bodily, ancestral and cosmic memories. We will practice circular chants, free movement, Qi Gong, Brazilian herbal rituals, ceremonies, sound journeys and spiritual anchoring. With Mariana, we will work on liberating the voice, to open the heart, and connect with your inner strength and capacity for joy and trust. Participants will create a sense of deep connection with themselves, one another, and Brazil’s nature, collaboratively cultivating an intimate and loving environment to share and heal.

In Community we will practice being present, caring for the self and each other, through singing, playing, sharing, and collective support; an experience of community and belonging, where the roles of receiving and offering support are considered essential for healing to take place. 

With Nature we will arrive respectfully, asking for permission to be. We will practice how to listen to the silences and overtones that nature gifts us. We will open ourselves to these gifts through feeling, smelling, bathing, sensing and touching, receiving from nature with gratitude; honoring its ancestral wisdom, its original peoples and its living forces. It is an experience of tuning into the forest and all its creatures who welcome us.  

With yourself, this program invites you to be curious, generous, loving and kind. It invites you to practice an open heart to face, acknowledge and transform what no longer serves you, opening the path to express and resound your most beautiful self!

Acknowledgment: Praia dos Algodões belongs to a geographical region that is part of the early colonization of Brazil. It was in this region - more precisely in Porto Seguro - that the first colonizers arrived in 1500. It is a region with a complex history, with many struggles and resistance to the violence of colonization and the mindset of exploitation. Currently, Ilhéus is considered as one of the cocoa temples of the world. Therefore, we ask permission to walk on this ground. We honor the forces that are there; the centuries-old struggles of indigenous and enslaved African peoples and the forces of these forests.

Nature and the environment of the Brazilian tropical forest and sea coast will provide us with a rich container for healing, connection and spiritual growth. Casa del Mar is a place of healing and nourishment for the body-soul and was specifically created for processes of healing and transformation. We will be sharing and learning with its community, visiting and connecting with a few places and projects in its surroundings.    

Casa del Mar is a truly sustainable, family-run eco-temple secluded in a spectacular Brazilian rainforest. Located in Maraú Peninsula, Bahia, on the soft sands of Praia dos Algodões/Northeast coast of Brazil.

Wake up to the overtones of the jungle and walk towards the crystal-clear beach for your daily QiGong practice. After a delicious breakfast, we will head to Oca, an indigenous architectural structure that will welcome us daily for our healing processes. Oca is a space, but also a temple, an entity surrounded by a lush green forest.

Greet your inner self as the wild world around you greets each of your senses. Reconnect to the rhythms, cycles, elements of nature and your own body and heart. Tune in to the rejuvenating Brazilian forest.

The combination of therapeutic, spiritual practices and immersion in the natural world is a powerful and transformative experience. Casa del Mar offers the perfect destination for us to unplug from our domestication, and Resound our inner world. 

All of our accommodations are shared and integrated into the tranquil jungle surroundings and ocean view. We have a steambath for relaxation, cleansing and meditation. Bicycles, kayaks, surfboards, paddle boards, bodyboards, and diving goggles are available and free of charge to enjoy nature!

 Reserving your spot:

- A non-refundable deposit of $1.500 cad is required for all bookings. 

- Remaining balance can be paid in 2 installments up to 30 days prior to program start date. 

- Full payment is required for all bookings made less than 30 days prior to program start date.

- Other payment plans and/or sliding scale will be considered for BIPOC and people with financial restrictions. Please contact us.

Cancellation Policy:

- All payments are non-refundable. In case of the organizer canceling the retreat an 18 month credit for a future and similar retreat will be issued. 

Ethics of this work:

No use of substances will be permitted during this work such as alcoholic beverages and psychoactive. A specific area for smokers will be delimited, however, it is encouraged that tobacco use is reduced.
