TRAVELING IN GUATEMALA
We are so excited to head back to Guatemala and Lake Atitlan for our second year! We have gone to great lengths to ensure that your travel to this beautiful country is seamless and safe. Regardless, we are traveling to a remote location in Central America and there are a couple of things to be aware of prior to booking.
- You will encounter critters that have inhabited this area longer than you have. You may see spiders or scorpions. Do not be alarmed, they typically will leave you alone if you leave them alone. However we have found the staff at Isla Verde very helpful when trying to remove any of these unwanted guests if help is requested.
- Instruction will be given regarding the use of water once you arrive. Filtered water will be provided and we do not recommend that you consume or use tap water in any way other than to shower. We also recommend participants take a probiotic for approximately one month prior to the trip.
- Travel advisories vary for this country. Please be advised we have taken multiple steps to ensure safe travels throughout this country such as arranging all transportation to and from the airport, guides when indicated and chosen locations known to be safe to stay for international travelers.
- Lastly, please be aware the beautiful cabins are built into the hillside. There are multiple steps from the main gathering areas up to these cabins. Please keep your physical condition in mind when booking these accommodations. Personally we feel the cabin views are worth double the steps but that is just us.
What’s included
- 7 nights AccommodationsOur first night will be spent in Antigua! The following day we will travel to Lake Atitlan and spend the remaining 6 nights there.
- 2 yoga classes a dayEach morning we will begin with a 75 minute power vinyasa yoga class. We will end the day with a 60 min class varying from slow flow to restorative and yin
- MeditationFollowing our morning class, you will have a guided meditation and opportunity for journaling or personal reading
- Ground TransportationAll ground/boat transfers to and from Guatemala City, Antigua and Lake Atitlan are included
- Cooking ClassLearn to cook authentic Guatemalan dishes like Pepian and Tamalitos while enjoying a fantastic view of Lake Atitlan.
- Kayak/SUP excursionWe will head out on the lake for an early morning kayak/SUP adventure! We will get you comfortable so if you want to head out later in the week you will be all set!
- Sunrise HikeFor the adventurous among us we will set out for a guided sunrise hike to the top of Indian Nose for gorgeous views of the lake!
- 3 meals a dayDelicious and nutritious meals will be offered daily with vegetarian options. Accommodations can be made for our vegan and gluten free guests!

- AirfareWe will all fly into and out of Guatemala City. Cost of the flight is not included.

- Optional ActivitiesOnce we arrive to Isla Verde staff can help arrange any other activities you might want to do such as spa services, zip lining, horseback riding or Kayak/SUP rentals.

Hill suites accommodations 4-6 people. There are 4 single beds and one queen bed, plus one full bathroom. Beautiful views of the lake can be seen from the spacious private balcony. Book with a group of friends or stay as a solo traveler with fellow soon-to-be friends.

Garden Suites accommodates 4-6 people. On the first floor are 4 single beds and a private bathroom with a spacious porch to enjoy views of the immaculate garden grounds. The upper level has a large king size bed and single bed as well as an additional full size bathroom. Go through the double glass doors to a private balcony draped with gorgeous plants and views of the lake. Again, great for a group of friends or stay as a solo traveler with fellow soon-to-be friends.
Want to secure the king bed? Add on $100 for just yourself or $50/person for you and your travel partner.

These rustic cabins are perfect to book with either a friend or partner having two single beds or one queen bed. Each having a private garden bathroom surrounded by living plants and a gorgeous view, you feel like you are showering in sheer nature. All cabins have solar powered showers.

Itinerary
On Saturday January 20th, we will all fly into Guatemala City. We recommend you schedule your arrival for the afternoon to make use of our shuttles the airport to the city of Antigua which is a little over an hour away. You will spend the rest of the day exploring the intriguing architecture of this historical city. In the evening we will gather for a welcome drink & dinner and get to know one another!
