About this trip

Out with the old and in with the new! Join Blue Planet on a week filled with celebrations where the Atlantic meets the Caribbean in Turks & Caicos. A liveaboard is the ideal way to visit famous dive sites throughout this small tropical archipelago. With up to 5 dives a day, there is ample opportunity to explore the beautiful walls and reefs the country is known for. What better way to kick off a new year?! Sign up today!

Turks & Caicos

Made up of forty islands and cays, the TCI is about twice the size of the Florida Keys and has two features that define local diving: the third largest barrier reef in the world, and excellent sheer walls. The islands sit on an expansive underwater plateau that rises 7000 feet from the ocean floor. The north edges of the plateau tend to have distinctive spur and groove formations and the west and south edges offer impressive wall diving sites. Sand chutes, canyons, and cracks are found at many sites and make for excellent swim-throughs. You will encounter abundant marine wildlife and if we're lucky, maybe a humpback will pass on her winter migration!

The Diving

Minimum dive certification/experience: PADI Open Water Diver. PADI Enriched Air/Nitrox certification strongly recommended. We can also complete Advanced Open Water Diver, Deep Diver and any number of specialties on the trip.

The liveaboard offers us a week of diving beautiful sheer wall ledges decorated with massive orange elephant-ear sponges, purple gorgonians, and crimson rope sponges. You will enjoy frequent visits from nurse and reef sharks, turtles, and eagle rays as they cruise by in search of prey or forage.

The yacht offers up to five dives per day (2 on the last day) including night dives. Enjoy freshwater showers on the back deck after your dives and dry off with a warm towel. There is ample storage space for your diving equipment in your personal locker. The stern and diving platform area are very spacious with convenient ladders for easy entries and exits.

Turks & Caicos Aggressor II

Our home for the week, the Turks & Caicos Aggressor II is a 120-foot yacht, designed and powered for comfort, safety and stability and has a 18 ft x 5 ft tender. She sleeps up to 18 guests in privacy and comfort. Common areas include a roomy, air conditioned salon and dining area, shaded sun deck complete with a hot tub, lounge chairs, deck chairs, shaded cocktail deck, grill and a  computer for photo editing for guests.

Travel

The Turks & Caicos Aggressor II® departs from Providenciales, known as ‘Provo’. You should plan to fly to  Providenciales (PLS) International Airport on Saturday, December 28th. Guests may board Saturday between 4-6 pm. At 6 pm the yacht departs for its night anchorage to prepare for diving Sunday morning. After a full week of diving, the yacht returns to Turtle Cove Marina Friday after lunch. Check-out is Saturday morning at 8 am so you can fly out any time that afternoon.

Had a great time, great people, great accommodations. Thanks to Blue Planet for a well executed trip, looking to see where we will end up next!

It was an amazing experience! The diving in Mozambique was a bit rough for me; water was cold and the current was a little too strong, but it was a great experience, nonetheless. The safari at Tau Lodge was incredible. We saw so many animals up close, got great pictures and had absolutely phenomenal guides. They really catered to their customers and made it such a unique adventure.

Cold water wonder is an understatement! The diving was beautiful, the resort was scenic, and the food was amazing. I highly recommend getting dry suit certified to be able to do this trip. Heather and Jonas did a great job leading the trip, making sure everyone had a great time.

It was a great diving trip. I enjoyed the group. Anthony from Blue Planet was a great, and very knowledgeable organizer and trip lead. His experience and knowledge as a Dive Instructor also became very evident. I enjoyed the trip.

Blue planet is absolutely spectacular - I try to go on at least one trip a year with them! They've taught me everything I know about diving and show incredible care and dedication to their divers. The trips are absolutely incredible; I wish it was possible to rate them six stars instead of five! I cannot recommend them highly enough and intend to keep diving with them for years to come.
