About this trip

In 2016, our journey began with the intention of assisting travelers in uncovering the diverse history of black culture in Brazil. The mission started after a sabatic 03 months trip of the founder, Carina Santos.

Since then, we have successfully connected with over 500 travelers, with a majority being individuals of black descent. Our objective is not merely to sell travel packages, but to offer a stress-free experience and cultural immersion. There are no automated messages, and there are no long wait times for a response.

We extend a warm welcome to travelers from all corners of the globe, as we strongly believe in the importance of supporting the black travel movement and its transformative impact.

Travel isn't just a hobby, it's our way of life.

I own a group travel company for Black travelers. We partnered with Carina and the Afrotrip team to help bring our Salvador group trip experience to life, and it was incredible and invaluable. From the beginning, Carina was a thoughtful, personable, organized, strategic, and knowledgeable partner in building this experience. Our trip wouldn't have been successful without her, and I look forward to continuing to work with her! As a bonus, some of my group and I decided to stick around after the official trip ended and head to Rio, where Afrotrip took care of us from start to finish again, organizing airport transfers, tours, and local experiences. Thank you so much!

Oh, my goodness, it was amazing. First, it was literally a last-minute booking. My group and I were traveling to Rio with no idea of how we were going to navigate. We received a recommendation for AfroTrip from Carina who conducted one of our excellent tours in Salvador. AfroTrip and Julio more than exceeded our expectations. It was an amazing experience and gave us the opportunity to experience the best of Rio, even during a short stay.
