About this trip

Join the journey to Salvador da Bahia, Brazil we have unique experiences to immerse yourself in the culture and community.

In Salvador, more than anywhere else in the country, the African influence in the Brazilian culture is readily visible in the religious festivals and ceremonies; the spicy dishes with African names and the Capoeira School, where unique African style of ritualistic fighting is taught. Salvador is the center of both traditional and contemporary Afro-Brazilian art and culture, and is famous for its Afro-Brazilian carnival. Salvador’s artistic and religious groups are the foundation of an important social movement in Brazil teaching visitors on Bahia’s African roots.

Throughout your journey you will be guided by a locally owned experienced tour guiding service company. Nomadic Noni will be your host and point of contact to prepare you for your epic adventure and on-site to ensure you have an amazing experience. I look forward to seeing you in Bahia.

On my first trip to Ghana in 1999, I co-organized a Rites of Passage research study tour. Through this experience, I founded a non-profit organization and have since created Nomadic Noni a travel resource that navigates you through the African Diaspora to discover the cultural connections through educational and travel experiences.

Had a great time. Lodging was in a great neighborhood. Food cooking experience was the highlight of the trip for me. The education from the tour guide on Brazil was awesome.

It was by far the best trip I have taken in many years. It was well organized and curated specifically with our group in mind. Theresa was attentive and personable. I got exactly what I wanted from this trip, which I have want to take for 30 years. This experience far exceeded my expectations. Thank you, Theresa for making this a truly memorable experience.
