About this trip

This fall, imagine standing at the peak of a mountain, breathing in the crisp autumn air, feeling rooted in the wisdom of your heart and wildly free. Our Rooted and Wild Yoga and Hiking Retreat in North Carolina offers you the perfect escape from the daily grind, where you can reconnect with nature and rediscover your aliveness, your calm confidence, and your wild and wise heart.

THIS RETREAT IS FOR YOU IF:

You want a break from daily stress, so you can recharge

In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it's easy to feel overwhelmed, stressed, and disconnected from yourself and your loved ones. The demands of work, family, and societal obligations can leave you feeling drained and out of balance. Your nervous system feels fried or you're just plain burnt out. Our Rooted and Wild Retreat is your chance to step away from it all, to recharge and rejuvenate your body, mind, and spirit. This is exactly the break you need to focus on your well-being.

You are craving time in nature and a bit of adventure

When life is busy, it's easy to forget how amazing you can feel after just a few hours outside breathing fresh mountain air. At our creekside retreat time has a way of slowing down, stress slips away, and your nervous system is soothed by the sounds of the rushing creek and crisp clean air. Rejuvenate your spirit with local hikes, outdoor yoga and meditation, and replenishing dips in the cleansing waters of the creek. You won't want to forget your favorite hiking shoes, swimsuit, and cozy layers!

You value community and connection with likeminded women

Maybe you've already been on one of the 30+ women's retreats I've led over the past 11 years or perhaps you're new here, but I have got to say that I am consistently blown away by the incredible women that show up on these retreats. The fast friendships, the connection, the stories, the vulnerability, the support, the tears, the laughter and the healing that happens when you bring women together and create a welcoming space to show up just as they are is what continues to inspire me. You are welcome here. All of you. The messy, the wild, the divine, all of your beauty. We see you and you belong here just as you are. This is for you too.

You want to deepen your practice both on and off of your mat

You're ready to deepen your practice and embody the gifts of a fulfilling yoga practice. You know and love that post-yoga feeling and you want more of it. Or perhaps you've fallen out of a regular practice or perhaps you've been leaving class with more questions than answers? You'll have ample individual attention and plenty of time to embody, ask questions, and reflect. Your yoga practice has so much potential to serve your wellbeing both on and off of your mat.

You know in your heart you haven't been putting yourself first

If this resonates, I just want you to know that I see you. I've been right where you are. This is just a season and it's about to change. You are capable of living a life that feeds your soul, you're already on the path. From a lens of self love, you'll be invited to let down your guard, your masks, your many responsibilities and step into your aliveness. It's from this place of wholeness and self love that you are able to show up as the best version of yourself full of vibrant energy, abundant joy, and clarity about what's ahead. I want this for you. I know you deserve it. Do you?

“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.” Maya Angelou

AFTER THIS YOGA RETREAT YOU WILL:

Have the tools to go deeper in your yoga practice. From a place of self love, inner strength, and empowerment you'll be able to transfer the knowledge you've gained here to your practice at home.

Feel vibrant and strong. With miles under your feet and empowering yoga you'll be glowing.

Embody a sense of calm confidence and deep trust. Rest and reflection will give you the space you need to access your inner knowing, intuition, and inner peace.

Long lasting friendships. Leave knowing you are part of an ever evolving, supportive group of women that not only want what's best for you, they want you to thrive.

Remember Your Value and Your Wholeness. Your gifts are worth sharing.

Embrace Your Inner Wild. And a life aliveness.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Autumn founded Ambuja Yoga in 2014 as a way to not only share her love of yoga, travel & adventure, but as a way to cultivate intention, courage and grace in her students. She hopes her retreat attendees will leave her retreats with a feeling of purpose and with the ability to invite their intention into all aspects of their lives. She encourages her students to be conscious creators… to have the courage to take risks (both big and small), the courage to listen deeply to their body, to their gut, to their heart and the grace to “roll with the punches” on this messy path we call life. Her classes are flowing, lighthearted, and interwoven with story and philosophy AND she has a big passion for facilitating deep rest through practices like yoga nidra, pranayama, sound healing and breathwork.

She is an active and gracious mentor to the next generation of yoga instructors. The movers and shakers who know that their gifts are meant to be out in the world.

Autumn’s retreats have been written up in online publications like Insider.com, Shape.com, Zappos.com, Asia Spa, Direct Holiday, and Bend Nest. Her retreats provide the perfect balance of fun, nature and soul work. She is the author of The Little Book of Mudra Meditations.

When she is not teaching yoga or leading retreats you can find her out on the trail, dancing in the rain with her toddler, or traveling the world.

Welcome to Ambuja Yoga! I’m Autumn Adams, E-RYT YACEP, and I am the founder of Ambuja Yoga. I am thrilled that you’ve found us (and that you’re snooping around to learn more). Each and every day I am thankful for this community of awesome, powerful and compassionate yogis. I am grateful that you’re here and that you’re interested in investing in your wellbeing by attending a yoga retreat. I created Ambuja Yoga in 2014 as an outlet to share my passion for wellbeing and balanced living while actively creating a life that I LOVE. As Ambuja Yoga came into fruition and evolved into what it is today, I can honestly say that I have found my path, my life’s work, my dharma. I want the same for you. I want you to love the life you live. My hope is to empower YOU to be courageous (to take those leaps), to handle life’s challenges with grace, and uncover your life’s sankalpa (an intention that guides you in all aspects of your life). You are worth it! You are worthy of investment!

Autumn and Toni really put their heart and soul into making this a nurturing and empowering experience. The organizers stay in touch throughout the process-- whether you have questions before booking; have dietary restrictions or special needs once you've booked; or enjoy reminders, driving directions, wellness tips, and a full information packet before the retreat. They really do make you feel valued and like family! Tipi Village is set in a delightfully rambling woodland, and the tipis are surprisingly cozy. There is a variety of yoga classes, whether you like vinyasa, roll and release, alignment workshops, sound healing, yoga nidra, restorative...there's truly something for everyone. There is also zero pressure to do anything that does not feel aligned for you. If you'd rather dip in the hot tub or the river swimming hole, journal in an Adirondack chair, stargaze, or sip tea or wine with new friends, that's all very much supported. My session also offered a spiritual component that was inclusive and welcoming for all-- featuring a community altar and a group ritual circle to close, as well as thoughtful touches like oracle cards and crystals lovingly picked out by our hosts. Oh and the gluten free blueberry pancakes are the best. (Seriously.) It's incredible that this retreat is offered at this affordable price point. One of the most distinctive aspects of the retreat is that it offers a safe space for women to come together and laugh, share, learn, and stretch in a warm, supportive environment. If that sort of community is calling you, this is a really great opportunity!

What an amazing retreat! I really needed self care after having my twin girls 3 1/2 months earlier. Autumn and Toni do a beautiful job holding space for what you need. Thank you ladies for this! The tipi village is a wonderful space and has delicious food

Autumn is a very experienced yoga instructor and approaches every class with insight and enthusiasm. Her retreat is well organized, thoughtful and tipi village is a magical place. The meals are delicious and dinners offered a compliment of local wines. Autumn and Toni (also an amazing instructor!) provide a safe environment for women to practice yoga/meditation and explore a deeper understanding of themselves. I highly recommend this yoga retreat.

This is my favorite yoga retreat I've ever attended. I have participated three times and will continue to do so as long as Autumn offers it! The sense of community, care and inspiration I receive every time I attend is memorable. The yoga and workshops are fantastic and the TiPi Village Retreat is a beautiful place! The food is outstanding and healthy! The creek is magical and I recommend this with my whole heart!

This was so good for my body, mind and heart. I went alone and felt so welcomed by everyone, also comfortable to take personal time or join in whatever was happening with others. Yoga was challenging if I need that and also affirming and gentle when I needed that instead, room in schedule for down time was also appreciated. Toni and Autumn are a great team, I plan to make this retreat an annual event. And yes the food was delicious, gorgeous setting, comfortable place to stay. I don't know if others experienced this afterwards but I was super tired and it took a couple days for my energy to get back up to my 'normal speed', maybe that means I really down regulated and that's a good thing? Might be nice to front load participants to take care of and be patient with selves as they re-enter a lifestyle with much different groove following retreat. This was my first retreat so I'll make sure to do that from now on. Thanks all!

Autumn and Toni are experienced and dynamic yoga teachers with so much to share. I loved looking up at the trees while listening to the creek or Autumn giving us a sound bath during yoga, what a special experience. The meals were delicious, and I slept so well in the tipi. Thank you for this weekend of wonder, rest, fun, and connection with welcoming and wise women!
