Henry is a fantastic guide, and even though the snow meant we had limited views of the colours, the trip was super unique and definitely superior to the "original" rainbow mountain - beyond beautiful macro geology and an up close experience with the accessible outcrops.

This review is longer overdue, but I'm still thinking of this trip! — My friend and I finished the Extended Ausangate Rainbow Trek + Machu Picchu trip in May 2024 and it was an absolutely incredible experience!! The views were STUNNING and it was so fun to saunter through herds of alpacas and llamas every day, barely seeing other trekking groups. Everyone we encountered from Killa Expeditions were great. Jose was very responsive right from the start, promptly booking all permits including the extra waynapicchu hike. Our guide, Guido, was incredibly patient and professional — I always felt safe and capable of getting through the next lag of the trek thanks to his pacing and expertise in guiding groups like us at high elevation. And I very much appreciated all the knowledge he shared with us throughout the entire trip about the mind-blowing Incas, local communities, and local plants & animals. I was also BEYOND grateful for the rest of the team that supported us on the trek, and blown away by their strength: the chef and sous chef, Andres and Alfredo, and the horsemen, Florencio and Cirilo (and their very strong horses, of course!). The additional luxuries Killa Expeditions provided made the trip even more enjoyable — specifically the great food, comforting hot water bottles every night (I miss them), coca tea and hot water in the morning, fresh fruit + snacks every day, and very comfortable tent setups. All-in-all, a great experience and I'm still wishing I could go back and take even more pictures! Maybe in a next life I can live there as an alpaca :)

This was a trip of a lifetime. The beauty of the mountains, history, and culture culminated in an unforgettable experience. Killa Expeditions took wonderful care of our group from the planning and preparation to the end of our time in Cusco. We were so grateful for their attention to detail and ensuring everything fell into place. Our actual hike and stay on the Inca trail was a dream come true. From the porters to the cooks to our amazing guide Guido, the staff was on point --professional and friendly. As expected, it was often hard physical effort on the hike, which definitely paid off as our group took in the whole experience and the majesty of the sites on the Inca Trail.
