About this trip

Begin the new year with a deeply nourishing winter retreat to Akumal, Mexico. The retreat will include daily practices led by Leslie and Nami, delicious meals prepared by a local chef, time soaking in the beautiful nature all around, communing with the sea life and more.

Our home for the week opens right into the Yal Ku Lagoon known for the best snorkeling and peaceful blue and green waters of the Caribbean. Akumal Bay, meaning place of the turtles, is famous for its turtles, spotted eagle rays, shoals of colorful fish and corals at a very short distance from shore.

There is plenty of common space to relax and reset, two pools on the first level, a veranda on the 2nd, and a roof terrace with a roof jacuzzi with great views of the Lagoon and sea. We will practice with the open ocean breeze in a covered area by the guest house and hold some sessions on the rooftop.

DAILY PRACTICE

Led by Leslie Graves and Nami Soga, the daily practice offerings will include morning meditations, journaling, and vinyasa-based yoga flows, in addition to mindful pilates and embodied practices. Gentle yoga, yin, breathwork and restorative practices will usher us into the evenings before our communal dinners.

PRIVATE SESSIONS

Nami will be available for acupuncture, bodywork, reiki energy healing, and astrology readings.  Read more about Nami's work here - https://www.ajnapura.co/

To book a session in advance reach out to leslie@solidgoldyogi.com

DELICIOUS, HOME-COOKED MEALS

Be nourished with a full brunch and dinner each day. Our chef will prepare delicious cuisine with local, fresh, top quality ingredients. The meals will include Vegan, Vegetarian and Pescatarian options. All food allergies will be accommodated. Morning teas and coffees, fruits and snacks will be available throughout the day.

LODGING + LOCATION

The house is directly on the world famous cenote Yal Ku. Take a kayak out, snorkel, relax in the rooftop jacuzzi, go for a swim. There are 4 rooms available overlooking the sea and 3 rooms available in the guest house next to the private pool. The rooftop terrace and 1st and 2nd floor lounges are open and shared by all.

Akumal is a walkable paradise with The Riviera Maya has the world's largest coral reef in the Western Hemisphere and the second largest barrier reef in the world. Known as the Mesoamerican Reef, it runs from Cancun all the way to Honduras. This makes Akumal the perfect place for a snorkeling enthusiast.

Our house is located within 1.5 hours driving distance from Cancun airport and 30 minutes from Tulum. While an airport transfer is included you are welcome to rent a car and make your own way to the villa.

I signed up for the Costa Rica retreat pretty last minute. One of the best impulse decisions I have ever made! The retreat was incredibly well-organized in a beautiful villa overlooking the rainforests with daily practices, an amazing chef, plenty of downtime for exploration and rest, and monkeys and sloths to give us company :) But my favorite part was the people -- couldn't have asked for a kinder, nicer people to experience my first retreat with :)
