Itinerary

DAY 1
Arrival at Nicky Lodge in Cuyabeno

In the morning, you will arrive in Lago Agrio, a small city in the Ecuadorian jungle located 500 meters above sea level. The tour will start in Lago Agrio at 9:30 a.m. You will travel in a pick-up style bus for approximately 2.5 hours until you reach "El Puente," the main entrance to the Cuyabeno Reserve and the last point of real civilization. Here, you'll enjoy a box-lunch and then navigate the Cuyabeno River in a motorized canoe for 3 hours until you arrive at the lodge. With some luck, you may already spot some of the ten different species of monkeys and tropical birds, as this part of the river is narrow enough to observe wildlife up close. After arriving at the lodge, you'll have more time to rest and then take an introductory tour of the area. After dinner, your bilingual tour guide will provide information about the activities for the coming days.
