Trip Highlights

Anacapa Island has some exhilarating diving on some outer deeper reefs and pinnacles. Most are seldom dived and can be great for hunting, photography, and sightseeing.  We plan to dive some of the deeper outer reefs off Anacapa Island. These reefs are between 60′-120 ft but we will concentrate on ones more in the range of 60′-90′. The outer reefs are very diverse and you just never know what you will see. Most boats seem to forget about some of these sites because they are out away from the island where currents can sometimes be an issue but on a good day when you can dive the outer reefs & pinnacles, you will be glad you did. Many times the visibility can be 20’-80’.

This trip is best suited for

Advanced divers and above that have experience in cold water conditions including; current, swell, possible limited visibility and deep water. Most importantly, good buoyancy control is needed and surface signal tubes are always recommended.

The Boat

The Spectre dive boat and crew do a great job, usually catering to new divers and divers new to the area, going to Anacapa and Santa Cruz Islands. However, with the special CIDA dive trips, this will not be the case. Our trips will all be limited-load for advanced divers and above and will go to more advanced sites around the islands.

These trips have worked out great for CIDA and the Spectre because everyone loves the extra room on the limited-load trips, and the diving doesn’t get to be the same old thing going to different and more advanced dive sites. Captain Nate and the crew love it as well. Read more about the Spectre HERE.

Scuba trips to the Channel Islands for the experienced diver are our specialty. We run trips to wrecks, oil rigs & coastal offshore reefs and offer warm & cold water dive vacations. We don’t have a dive shop, and we are not a club, but we have been putting on some AWESOME trips since 2008.

GREAT trip! Basically a private charter with personalized attention and pleasant captain. We went diving on outer reefs in Malibu that were pristine and full of life. Nitrox fills all day was a plus! Safe, fast, fun... new sites... I'll be back!

As usual, Kens's trip to Santa Cruz was terrific. Very well organized, had great people, a great boat, and the diving was incredible - Visibility best I have ever experienced in California. Flame Reef is a terrific site, a bit deeper them some great kelp and marine life. Lots of topography. I didn't see them there was a Mola and a Giant sea bass Hanging around.I will definitely go on more of Kens Dive trips

Thank you, Art! Flame Reef has always been one of my favorites, but that first dive was one I'll remember for a long time. Can't wait to do it again, Ken
