About this trip

Join us for Stargazing and Smartphone Photography and learn to capture amazing night sky images with your smartphone camera!

This 2 hour experience involves a guided night hike on your choice of trail led by our local astrophotography guides. They’ll teach you to identify objects in the night sky and capture beautiful images of the stars over the red rocks using just your phone!

Experience Sedona’s famous dark skies and leave with unique mementos that you create yourself!

• Tours begin and end at local trailheads
• Tripods and Headlamps are provided.
• The cost is $150 per person with group, family, and local discounts available (message us to learn more)! 

Sedona Photo Tours are offered through The Hike House, Sedona's premier hiking and outdoor destination. Visit The Hike House to learn more and to get any gear you may need to enjoy the outdoors in Sedona!


Please note: during the winter season all stargazing tours are private. Tours have a minimum of 3 participants to operate. If booking for a group of less than 3 please book for 3 guests. Scheduled group departures will return in the spring.

Stargazing Tour
A Night Capturing Magic Under the Stars

We will meet at the parking lot and take a short guided night hike to a nearby mesa with open views of the red rocks and dark skies. Your guide will teach you to identify interesting objects in the night sky and then assist you in creating amazing long exposure night sky images using your smartphone camera! Create out of this world photos of stars, planets, the Milky Way, and even otherworldly light painting images!

The tour is two hours. The guided hike is short (>0.25 miles each way) and on mostly flat terrain.

I recently took a photo tour Kevin arranged and led through the Bolivian salt flats and Atacama Desert in Chile. Kevin relied on his knowledge and experience in the region to identify perfect locations for capturing incredible shots of wildlife, landscapes, and the Milky Way as well as managing the logistics of getting to and staying comfortably in some very remote locations. I have been an amateur photographer for 40+ years, but this was my first serious go at night shooting. I joked to a friend that Kevin is the Julia Child of astrophotography. He shows you step by step what you need to know and then gives you the opportunity to do it yourself. It was a great experience!
