We are excited to be hosting our spring paddle surf retreat on the western coastline of Vancouver Island. As the days get longer and the spring temperatures start to rise it's an ideal time of the year to get together to share five fun days of paddle surfing.  Our fall Rancho Surf Camp has been such a huge success that we thought we would provide another opportunity for you to join your friends for good times in the waves. This camp is supported by Sunova Surfboards so we will have boards on hand for you to rent and to learn more about the brand.

Tofino is an ideal location for our camp with its numerous sand beach breaks and gentle conditions perfect for paddle surfing. Our camp is hosted at Rancho Tofino, a private and laid back location and steps away from one of the best surf breaks and sunset locations at Cox Bay. 

With a 65 inch TV for video coaching, heated floors and a wood stove the space provides a comfortable and warm base camp for our week of paddle surfing in Tofino. 

Sharing the Sunova Surfboards Stoke

Norm has been a Sunova Ambassador and athlete for the last eight years and has loved the community of liked minded people and ocean advocates this brand has brought together here in Canada. Chris Smith, a Victoria native, is the new Sunova Surfboards distributor and Brand Manager in Canada for 2025 and while be bringing the Sunova stoke with him. While Norm and Chris were surfing last fall they had the idea to provide a spring surf camp and the opportunity to get a paddle surf community together to have fun in the waves together supported by Sunova. 

At the end of the day it doesn't matter what board you ride as long as you are stoked on paddle surfing and being part of our surf community. 

Try Before You Buy Sunova Surfboards

Don't have a board or feel like bringing yours? A variety of Sunova boards will be at the camp for a $200 rental for the five day camp. If you have always wanted to try a Sunova paddlesurf  board then this is a great opportunity for you. If you would like to purchase a Sunova board at the end of the camp we will put that rental money towards your purchase . Don't need a board? Chris will also have some demo boards available to try out. 

Free Board Storage

Should someone purchase a board but live out of town/province, Sunova Canada has offered to provide complimentary board storage for a year, and delivery when you arrive back on the island for subsequent individual surf trips and occasions.  

Sunova Welcome Reception

On the first night of the camp, Chris and Sunova will be hosting a welcoming cocktail reception at Rancho Surf as you reflect on the days surfing, get settled into the great accommodations and get to know your fellow participants.

If you have some basic paddle surfing skills with the goal of improving and connecting with a like minded group of paddle surfers then you should join us. Our fall Rancho Surf Camp is better suited to those who have no experience and want to learn how to paddle surf. This camp is supported by Sunova Surfboards and we will have high quality Sunova surf boards available for rent if you have always wanted to try one out. 

A $300 non refundable deposit is due at the time of booking with full payment due two months prior to trip start date. Final payments will be auto billed. Cancellation less than 60 days prior to the first day of the trip will result in the full loss of the trip fee.  Please purchase travel insurance to secure protection for your trip in case you need to cancel for any reason including medical.
