Would not recommend! Booked a transfer Paramaribo to Georgetown. Crammed like sardines into a tiny minibus along with any extra cargo the driver could take to make more money. He drove like a maniac, had music blasting constantly from 4.30am and didn't even stop for a quick bathroom break in nearly 4 hours. The seatbelts did not work. Once we arrived at the border/ferry we were given no information on what to do, where to meet him afterwards etc. I am well travelled and appreciate we are not in Europe, however we paid $75 each for this terrible transfer. We met other travellers at the border who only paid $50 for the same journey in a car where apparently the driver was careful and they had seatbelts. My advice would be to source an alternative transfer once you arrive in Paramaribo.

Dear Karen, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are sorry to hear that your transfer did not meet your expectations. We want to clarify that we work with independent private drivers for overland transfers between Paramaribo and Georgetown, as there is no regulated service for this route. While we aim to connect travelers with reliable transport options, the experience can vary depending on the driver. Your feedback is valuable, and we will pass it on to our partner drivers to improve. If you had reached out to us during your trip, we would have done our best to assist you. We appreciate your input and will continue working towards a better travel experience for our customers.

The overland transfer Paramaribo - Georgetown was a very smooth trip. The driver contacted me a day ahead by whatsapp and called again 20 minutes before arriving at pickup. I left at 4.35am in a car with five (including driver), arrived in South Drain around 8.45am. Performing check-in procedures and leaving Suriname took around one hour, boat left 20 minutes late (around 150 people on board, almost only locals). Boat ride was some 25 minutes to Molson Creek, Guyana immigration took another 15. To identify the onward driver there were two easy measures: I had received the name of the onward driver, and this driver had a picture of me on his phone (sent by the driver of the Suriname stretch). Bus of 12 (including driver) was full after ten minutes and we left around 11.15. One small stop halfway to buy some food and drinks and arrived around 3pm in my Georgetown hotel. Easy transfer, worth the money.

We visited all three of the Guianas. The capital cities are different in architectural styles, with some historical sites. However, in themselves the cities are probably not worth the trip. The main attraction of the countries is the jungle, which we chose to visit in Suriname. We had a couple of days at Knini Paati and five at Kabalebo. Both sites were very good and provided lots of opportunities to see wildlife. The staff at both sites were excellent. The only negative of the trip was the performance of the tour company Travel The Guianas. The trip program was changed without any notification or communication and caused us some problems. We had no real issue with changing the itinerary, we can be flexible. However, the lack of communication and organization over the course of the trip was annoying, frustrating and detracted from the trip. I would not recommend using their services.

I changed the trip to the transfer from Suriname to French Guiana. The drivers on the transfer to Cayenne drove too fast..the one in Suriname slowed down upon request but the one in French Guiana did not. The ride was uncomfortable and i also had neck pain as a result. There was also a wait at the border as there was miscommunication and the second driver did not show up on time.

Dear Mr. Muris, Thank you for the feedback! As we have discussed we will make sure that that the way this driver in the French side behaved, we would not tolerate that and make sure we have our own driver again. The whole mis understanding of timing was because last moment you have changed your pickup time and you are aware of that.

Very different than expected. I booked I under the understanding we would be picked up form hotel at 5 am. Then I was told earlier maybe 3 am. By 9 PM the day before they changed it to 2 am. And then I got a call at 1 am that I would be picked up in 15 minutes (1:15 am) I had less than 2.5 hours of sleep. Driver was a cool guy but drove pretty fast. We hit bumps pretty hard on two occasions. Instructions were sketchy when stopped. Driver will say take your time and then after 10 minutes while we were still eating rush us to get on the van very persistently. At the end driver and one passenger when out of their way to find my apartment in Georgetown. Thank you for that. But communication can be be improved as to how flexible are the times and rules. Overall a good experience.

Dear Arturo, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you experienced. We work with several individual drivers to provide a hassle-free service, and it's unusual for us to hear about such miscommunication, so we really appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We always aim to provide clear communication about pick-up times and flexibility, and it seems there was a misunderstanding on this occasion. We’ll review the situation with the driver from that day to ensure it doesn’t happen again in the future. Our goal is to provide a smooth, stress-free experience, and we’ll make sure that the process is clearer for future travelers. We're happy to hear that, despite the challenges, the driver was able to assist you and that the journey ended on a positive note with the extra effort to find your apartment. We'll continue working with our drivers to improve both communication and the overall experience for our guests. Again, thank you for your feedback, and we hope to welcome you back soon for a more seamless experience.
