Join Tara & Adrianne for an adventure to delight all of the senses in one of their favorite countries in the world — Mexico! This trip takes place in Oaxaca, a state so diverse and unique that it provides you with ample opportunities for feasting (your eyes, your palette, and your heart), and self-discovery alike.
The trip begins in colonial Oaxaca City, one of Mexico's culinary, artistic, and cultural epicenters. There, we will participate in a number of cultural activities such as walking through ancient Zapotec ruins, perusing local artisan markets, participating in our own artisan workshop, learning to cook delicious local fare, and sipping Oaxaca's famous drink, Mezcal. Oh - and eating delicious food every step of the way.
Next, we will head into the Sierra Sur mountain range to San Jose del Pacifico, which sits at 8,000 feet above sea level — higher than the clouds themselves! There we will spend a night and do some ecotourism activities such as hiking, hanging bridges, and a "temazcal" ceremony (a typical sweat lodge of the region). And of course, amazing fare.
Finally, we will head down to the fabled and beautiful Oaxacan coast, to the "Pueblo Mágico" of Mazunte, where we will spend our time hiking, watching the sunsets from the beach, snorkeling, and witnessing the prolific sea life of the area. The trip will end with some free time to explore however your little heart would enjoy. Don't forget the mouth-watering coastal cuisine!
This trip is about the best things in life, in a region of Mexico known for arts & culture, kindness & hospitality, and FOOD. It's about slowing down, taking it easy, and enjoyment.
In this option, you will share a room with ensuite bathroom, but still have your own bed. Perfect for pairs of friends.
