Richard offered a delightful tour of Perugia seen through several delicious food experiences. We find that food tours are a great way to make a first encounter with a new city, and this did not disappoint. Perugia is a lovely city, and we would highly recommend this introduction to the city.

Good mix of learning about the history of Perugia mixed in with great food and drinks.   Richard was very knowledgeable.   Enjoyed the tour.

We took the tour at the beginning of our stay in Perugia. Taking this tour was the single best idea we had on our trip. Richard was full of interesting historical, culinary, and cultural information. We learned about the city, the food, the wine, the beer, the coffee, and, of course, the chocolate. Richard was so friendly and answered all of our random questions. Afterward, we had a really good lay of the land, as well as a bunch of ideas of what else we wanted to do and places we wanted to revisit. I highly recommend taking this tour at the beginning of your stay in Perugia!!

I had such an incredible time skiing and eating my way through the Dolomites! Everyday, we skied dozens of kilometers, seeing different parts of the mountain range. We stayed in beautiful hotels and ate delicious food. Susan meticulously planned every element of the trip, so all we had to worry about was having fun! This was the most beautiful location I've ever skied in, and I highly recommend it.

Bellissimo!  This was a trip of a lifetime thanks to Susan and Richard of Via Del Vino Tours.  Rome, Florence and Tuscany - everything was so well coordinated.  Private tour guides in each location were not only knowledgeable but also engaging and fun!  Everything from where to stay, tours of food, wineries, cheese making, and multiple cities were outstanding with no detail left to chance.  Our driver for the week in Tuscany, Luca, was a 10!  We can't wait for our next Italian adventure with Via Del Vino - perhaps Perugia!

We loved the hotels and restaurants( thanks for making the reservations,) and the guides you got us in Rome, Florence and Siena were excellent. The itinerary you created for our week in Tuscany was perfect. We really enjoyed the wineries, restaurants and charming towns, and were glad to have relaxing time at the villa, too. Chef Paolo cooked 3 delicious meals for us, and our driver, Luca got us everywhere safely and promptly, and with a smile on his face. 
All the people you set us up with, and all the details you took care of (reservations, deposits and payments, online itineraries, contact numbers, maps, travel tips, etc.,) made this trip extraordinary —-so much better than anything we could have done on our own! Grazie mille!

Excellent experience. Daily excursions were well planned and executed. Excellent accommodations and staff.

In spite of personal limitations this was a wonderful trip.  We really enjoyed it.  I like the fact that the group was small.  Every one was very nice.  Extra credit to Susan and Shelly for being great.  Susan could not be more accommodating and thoughtful.  She truly was on top of everything even when thrown a curve ball.  The places we stayed were very nice and the food and wine were terrific.

Completely enjoyed the entire trip.  Puglia is a fascinating and fun region to explore.  One of the highlights was having an opportunity to actually make pasta and mozzarella!  We also met the owners at both the winery and the olive grove we explored  and had a delightful lunch at both venues. And we had many, many more one of a kind experiences. Susan takes great care in building her itinerary and in selecting her local guides.  She also has a wealth of knowledge about the region.   All and all a wonderful trip!

For this first tour to Sicily, we did really pack in a lot of activities and we agree that a slower pace might be better for future tours so that people can soak it all in and have some downtime.

The trip to Sicily was absolutely fabulous in so many ways!

First of all, it was such a wonderful group of people without a doubt lead by   Susan, Juliana and Carol who were on top of things.

The quality of the hotel/room was somewhat disappointing at Palermo although the location and the food was good. Having said that the rest of the hotels were fabulous!

The food was excellent and some top notch except at the one restaurant which I think many agreed. Most importantly, the quality of the food  would’ve have been much more appreciated and enjoyable if they balanced the meals with fresh greens with simple olive oil & balsamic vinegar in my opinion. I felt the quantity was too much and was heavy food at times. I’m a firm believer of “Less is better.” I had learn to eat small bites for each plates not knowing what and how many dishes were coming and to be able to digest.

Culturally, I saw and learned so much more than I ever expected therefore, it was absolutely fantastic! Having said that, the first three days were pretty difficult to process it all not having enough time to soak it in with a decent break. Jet leg was an another issue for everyone I believe. An another balancing issue. 

Cooking classes were terrific especially the first class which was very intimate and very hands on! The second and the last cooking classes were pretty much the same but their both meals were absolutely delicious! Just loved the setting facing the Mt. Etna and surrounded by energetic grapevines and the cooking and dining setting… 
(What can you ask for more?!) For cooking classes, everyone would want to learn something completely different from each cooking class without doubt.

I’m terms of guides, Anita was fantastic and it’s hard and not fare to compare the rest after her. I did hear that the last guide was excellent which I missed.

One thing I would strongly suggest would be to have a better descriptions and guidelines for people of certain age with their ability. Obviously, this requires some wording on your initial description of each trip. Prior to getting ready for a next day, it would be helpful to know the condition of grounds, length of walking, incline/decline, paved, cobble or rocky and whether we need to bring water etc. By having a lawyer spouse, no want want to be liable for your tourist..

Most importantly, you don’t want anyone to feel they are so exhausted or can’t eat anymore but want them to come back for more of great things.

You think you've seen much of the awe and beauty of Italy...and then you find yourself in Umbria! Singular, local experiences. Small group of very interesting travelers with easy camaraderie nurtured by the exceptionally fun, outgoing and knowledgeable hosts. Food, of course - it's Italy after all; wine, ditto.  Pizza and pasta making 
-  which may sound routine but with a talented pizzaiola, and a Michelin star chef demonstrating the proper way to make silky pasta, these common Italy experiences were elevated. Delightful and off-the-beaten path walking tours and tastings sprinkled with history, architecture and local color left us all happy, educated and sated. Enough free time to unwind and soak in la dolce vita, balanced by a full slate of activities - including some optional.  The accommodations were exquisite - ancient and modern at the same time - but that deserves another chapter! The on-premises staff couldn't be more accommodating. Do not hesitate to book this tour!
