Connemara is a baron mountainous region reaching out to the middle west coast of Ireland. Expect lakes, mountains and loads of sheep! 

This tranquil area is home to the Connemara National Park and is often described as “exactly what you’d expect to see on a postcard of Ireland”

We’re not going to say too much about what’s in store the rest of that day as we’re keeping it as a SURPRISE DAY. Don’t worry, we’re good at surprises!

We will return to Galway City that night for our first group dinner together, and our second night in the same hotel as the night previous… Oh, and there will be loads more music!

Ah, the Aran Islands day! First off, you’ll be leaving your large bag on the mainland and taking an overnight bag with you to the island. We’ll remind you about this later. 

The day starts with a scenic drive out of the city, hopefully not doubling over too much road that you will have seen the day before. Within 45 mins we get to the passenger ferry which takes an additional 45 mins to get out to Inis Oirr, the smallest of the three Aran Islands.

Why the smallest? Because it’s the best for overnights!

Expect a busy day of day-trippers running around, but then exhale at they all evacuate the island shortly after lunchtime, leaving this beautiful oasis to us, the locals and a few other overnight visitors.

The island has 3 x bars, plenty of food options, super-friendly locals and starlights and sunsets that may well blow your mind. Or else it will be overcast and you won’t see a thing… That’s the sheer raw beauty of this part of the world. 

We’ll be spending this night at small, family owned and run hotel about 10 mins walk from the pier. 

If you’re a fan of hiking, then we’ll send you off the island after breakfast so you can hike up the Cliffs of Moher, on the mainland. If you’d rather lie-in then chill and take your time. Go back to bed, go for a dip in the sea or a cycle/walk around some of the islands pre Christian monuments.

Following a very leisurely morning, the rest of us will take the lunchtime ferry back to the mainland, enjoying a cruise underneath the Cliffs of Moher en route into Doolin harbor. 

To make sure we get the absolute most out of Ireland's most visited natural attraction, we will also visit the Cliffs and experience them from the top!

Here, in West Clare, you have the home of Ireland’s best surf spots, golf courses and natural features. We’ll enjoy the second half of the day skipping around this region at our perusal. And if we want a pint, we’ll pull in somewhere and get one. Are you starting to understand the feeling of this tour???

We overnight in West Clare for one evening, hopefully catching a gorgeous sunset.

Head’s up that Day 5 and 6 are totally dependent on who’s on the tour and what we want to do. We’ve tons of flexibility here.

Sometime late morning we will cross over into Co. Kerry, home of the tallest mountain range in Ireland, along with some of the most stunning coastal scenery in the world. These natural marvels are decorated with glorious golf courses, charming pubs, small activity centers and an abundance of true Irish hospitality. This is why we’re spending two days here.

A few weeks before this tour kicks off, we will need you to decide the activities you’d like to do on this stretch of the trip. This allows you to break away and customize your experience to the best we can make it.

This night, we’re spending the first of two nights in Killarney Town.

Consider this an extension of Day 5, where we’ve a range of options and activities at our disposal. Make sure to get in touch with any requests or recommendations so we have time to make it happen for you!

We will end our day with our second group dinner, and will be our second night in Killarney

Our end goal on this day is to get us to Clonakilty in West Cork, home of one of our favorite pubs and music venues in the country. As mighty as the destination is, wait until you embark on the journey to get there!

First off, we start with a stunning drive (...the wrong way…) up against the world famous Ring of Kerry. This ring road weaves up the highest mountain range in Ireland while meandering throughout our country’s largest national parks. Expect mountains, lakes, plenty of photo stops and, instead of the sheep of Connemara, Kerry is home to thousands of wild deer.

By the time we cross the border into Co. Cork we will have you all well briefed on Ireland's expansive history from pre-Christian to the Vikings, to the British colonization and right through to the fight for our independence. Many key parts and players in the story of Ireland hail from these southern parts of Ireland, and the towns we pass through on this day are key to understanding not just our history but who we are as a people today.

The cherry on top of this day is our stay in the gorgeous town of Clonakilty. This is also the home of a Mr. Kevin O’Mahony, who many of you will know from Tellus.

We’ll let ourselves out of “Clon” at a reasonable hour. This ultimately depends on how late we get kicked out of the music venue the night prior..

Onwards we go, making our way towards the Mecca of Irish Whiskey, Midleton Distillery. This is the home of Jameson, along with a handful of other top Irish Whiskey brands. We will certainly take a tour of the facilities here and top it off with one of their signature whiskey experiences. Sometimes it is a premium whiskey tasting, sometimes it’s a cask opening experience and sometimes it's something totally new. In reality, we won’t know until a few weeks beforehand when they announce what the new experiences are.

While the distillery is the highlight experience of the day, that whole part of Ireland is dotted with dozens of small villages and quaint towns. We will ensure to stop into a couple of them to soak up some of that side of Ireland’s culture.

The dusk horizon of this day will feature the distinct outline of Kilkenny Castle. If we don’t get to visit the castle that evening we will be sure to pop in there the following morning.

This will be our final hotel of the trip, where we are staying for two nights.

Waking into our final full day of the tour, you might have a few things left on your Irish Bucket List. If so, then Kilkenny is one of the best places to be.

Castles, monasteries, museums and storytellers will scratch the itch of any historians who are looking for more. Shops, galleries and outlets are there for any last minute shopping. Top-notch restaurants, cafes and bars are in abundance for anyone looking to finish off the trip with some more top cuisine.

We will orientate you with the town and give you all the history you need to start the day. After that, enjoy a free final day taking in one of Ireland's finest towns.

We will have our final group meal together on this night, staying for our second and final night in Kilkenny

Kilkenny is just 90 mins drive from Dublin, making this a wonderful place to wake up on our final morning together. 

If you are flying out on this day, we will drop you to the airport. If you are staying in Dublin for a few more days, then we will drop you in to Dublin City as close to your next nights accommodation as possible. If you’d like to spend more time in Kilkenny, then that’s no problem - There is a train to Dublin City approx every hour.
