Make all of your childhood dreams come true and join Shelley Lowther, Christine Graeber and Dancing Dogs Yoga for an all expense paid trip to the jungles and beaches of El Valle, Samana, Dominican Republic.   


Live in a treehouse.   Get close to nature.  Make your morning commute across stepping stones and a rope bride and leave traffic and the news behind.  Each day, you will wake to fresh coffee and cocoa, a delicious buffet breakfast, yoga, meditation and bliss.  an no internet.  Unplug and unwind, treehouse style.

After yoga, explore the culture and life of DR with a curated schedule designed to expand your mind and you heart, and  refresh your body and your soul.


This trip includes an exciting zipline experience, catamaran adventure and lots of yoga, fun, games and adventure.

  • Opening Cacao Ceremony
    Experience the community and power of an opening cacao ceremony with intention setting. Purchase locally sourced cacao and learn about how it's made.
  • 4 Nights Accommodations
    4 nights accommodation at the Dominican Tree House Village

  • Daily Yoga + Meditation

  • Zipline Adventure
    Experience the exhilarating adventure of the Samana Zipline, the largest biplane in DR!
  • Catamaran Adventure
    Snorkeling, swimming and diving for starfish on a private boat with beer, rum drinks and all the fun you can handle. Includes lunch on Bacardi Island. *if unavailable, we will go to Playa Rincon.

Shared treehouse room.  Each room features a shared queen sized bed, mosquito net and private bathroom for two people.  Each room has wood floors, open walls with curtains, swinging chairs, a lockable chest for valuables, and a priceless view.  Price is per person.

Opening Cacao and Intention Setting Ceremony

Check in to the Treehouse by 4pm and enjoy a tour of the property, welcome dinner, and opening Cacao and intention setting ceremony to welcome you to Dominican Republic.   Led by Shelley Lowther and local villagers, this ceremony uses locally sourced cacao and includes magic, community and a good dose of local flavor.

This was my THIRD retreat with DDY and it was MAGICAL. The venue was amazing, the excursions were fun and paced out well, there was also plenty of time to relax and do things independently, and it was the most beautiful setting I'd ever done yoga in. I'll remember the friends I made forever and definitely feel like I left a piece of my heart there <3 Also, Shelley is a phenomenal host and is a wealth of knowledge in yoga and international travel- she makes you feel confident and supported for sure.

The trip was very well curated with good balance of activity and leisure. The only thing that was missing was a visit to a goat farm…Maybe next time🤷🏽‍♀️? Amorgos is lovely island, that is only mildly tricky to get to, but serene once you’re there. I highly recommend taking to opportunity to join Shelley on her next Gretian adventure. When you’re there…definitely indulge in some extra Amorgian cheese on the Greek salads.

Where do I begin?! This trip was a trip of a lifetime. The hotel was fabulous. The tours where we did were unforgettable. The Greek people everywhere were so kind and helpful. DDY did a fantastic job setting everything up. And when booking the travel to get there Shelly was right there to help anyone with questions on what to do and where to stay. Numerous people even stayed longer on different islands and Athens and Shelly offered suggestions for where to stay and things to do at other places. Traveling with DDY has given me the confidence to travel all other the world. Thanks DDY!

I was fortunate enough to complete my YTT at the Dominican Tree House Village in El Valle, Samana. I am so thankful for Shelley and being able to share my yoga story. Shelley is a woman of many virtues but my favorite is her being able to hold space for diverse populations in yoga (BIPOC/LGBTQIA+). I was supported during my learning journey, and encouraged throughout my training to continue to create space for other individuals like myself. Our training was well organized, detail oriented, knowledgeable, and a healthy balance between learning, resting, and adventure! I was paired with the best roommate and suite mates ever! I am terrified of being in the jungle but knowing I was there with three other women, made it so worth while. Finally, Emma made the most amazing Dominican cuisine for us daily and the Tree House Staff were so hospitable. I would absolutely go on another training/retreat with Shelley and the crew!

What an amazing trip! This was my second DDY retreat and I will be back for more! The resort was beautiful, with a yoga Shala that looked out over the ocean and has a jungle backdrop! And on top of that, the food was amazing! The variety of both included and optional activities where amazing, in addition to the twice daily yoga. My personal favs were the sound healing, and the Mayan clay ceremony. The fellow retreaters where also amazing and really made it a trip to remember! Can’t wait for the next retreat!
