We travel to Hillsborough Castle, it has been a grand family home and is now the official home of the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, and a royal residence. Members of the Royal Family stay at Hillsborough when visiting Northern Ireland.

Viewed by some as a politically neutral venue, Hillsborough has played an important role in the Peace Process in Northern Ireland since the 1980s.

In 2014, Historic Royal Palaces took over the running of Hillsborough Castle and Gardens and began an ambitious project to restore the house and gardens to its former glory.. 

We then go on to the city of Belfast, take a bus tour there and then visit the Titanic museum  and you will also have time to explore the city before going to our accommodation which is North of Belfast in a place called Larne.

We take a trip around the Glens of Antrim (stunning scenery) to our first stop which is the famous wonders of the world called the Giants Causeway. This is a very unique place that has many myths and legends attached to it. Many of them mention Finn McCool who was a giant who tried to build a bridge to Scotland to kill the giant over there, but science tells us that there are 40 thousand Basalt rocks there. You can make your own mind up about it all. We finish off the day with a visit to nearby Bushmills Distillery where you can enjoy a tipple or two of the famous whiskey and see how it is made.

We head to the stunning Sliabh Leag today. These are regarded as the highest cliffs in Europe and are Donegals version of the Cliffs of Moher. The scenery on the way there and while there is breathtaking. There is a lovely cliff walk there and a viewing platform where you can take it all in. We then go towards Sligo and on the way we take in Mullaghmore Coastal drive where we stop to take photo's, and then give you a totally different type of scenery by driving around the back of the majestic mountain of Benbulben in Co Sligo.

The first half of the day will be a choice of what you want to do. We can book you in for a tour to explore the Oyster farm, or book you for a seaweed bath, or we can bring you for a hike up Knocknarea mountain to see the burial ground of Queen Maeve (Not very hard) or we can leave you into explore Sligo Town. 

We then have you booked to visit visit Flying Eagles where we will be entertained by the birds and the great show that they put on for visitors.

We take a trip to visit Parkes Castle today which sits on the shores of Lough Gill. It is a very scenic drive around the lake to the Holy well. This is a very special place that was used in penal times where the locals would come to attend a secret Mass. We then go to a beautiful Waterfall that featured in many of WB Yeats poems called Glencar waterfall in co Letrim before stopping in Lough Key for a while. There you can view an 11th century castle that sits on its own Island. There are lovely walks, tunnels, canopy walks, wishing chairs, fairy bridges, zip lines and so much more to enjoy!

For those who want to attend mass there is no better place than in Knock Basilica which is a place of pilgrimage. An apparition of Our Lady in 1879 to some local children became known around the world and now people from all around the world come here. We then take you to Spiddal Craft village where you can stroll in and out of these little craft shops and workshops where you will see jewelry, weaving, knitting, glass cutting, instrument making and baking done. But you will also hear these people work through the medium of the Irish Language. 

Then we go to Galway city with its cobbled stoned, music filled streets. Great little craft shops, a great museum, art galleries and great night life.

We make our way to Clare today, taking in Kinvalla Castle on the way. We then visit the famous Cliffs of Moher. There is a great heritage center and craft shop there also to enjoy, and a great restaurant there also if you are feeling peckish. We then make our way to the world renowned Bunratty Castle and Folk park. You get a great tour of the castle with their tour guide and then you can take some time to go around the folk park popping in and out of the houses there to learn all about how the Irish lived long ago. There is also a gift shop there.

We are making our way back to Dublin today. You could not come to Ireland without visiting the famous Rock of Cashel. The Rock of Cashel is one of Ireland's most spectacular archaeological sites, a prominent green hill, banded with limestone outcrops, rising from a grassy plain and bristling with ancient fortifications. It's a five-minute stroll from the town centre up to the Rock, from where fantastic views range over the Tipperary countryside.

We then stop at Kilkenny Castle. Few buildings in Ireland can boast a longer history of continuous occupation than Kilkenny Castle. Founded soon after the Norman conquest of Ireland, the Castle has been rebuilt, extended and adapted to suit changing circumstances and uses over a period of 800 years.

We then make our way to our last accommodation which is an 18th century Irish Castle that is now 4 star hotel with all the old world charm but has all the modern conveniences too!
