This 3 day/2 night Autumn motorcoach trip offers a journey to Greenville and the Foothills of South Carolina.  Why choose Greenville?  This city revived itself after the collapse of the textile industry to become one of the hottest new destinations in the Southeast!  Visionary community leaders have put Greenville on the map, attracting new residents, more than 40 Fortune 500 companies, over 100 headquarters operations, 110 international companies and visitors like you!  It's striking in its downtown beauty beginning with Main Street known for the tree canopy, twinkling lights, wind chimes and vibrant shopping and dining.  Speaking of dining, your itinerary includes a Progressive Dinner Tour with visits to three restaurants for dinner on the first evening.  Greenville has been named one of the "Best Food Cities" in the US by Travel & Leisure.  A forgotten waterfall covered by a highway and vegetation was uncovered and developed into Falls Park on the Reedy, the centerpiece of downtown and ranked one of the "10 Top Parks in the US".   Additionally, Greenville is an open-air art museum featuring 160 pieces of art including a Dale Chihuly glass sculpture.  Neglected textile mills have been converted into food halls and art galleries.  The itinerary also includes a guided motorcoach history tour so you can learn all about Greenville's diverse history ranging from its role in plaid to poinsettias and from "Shoeless Joe Jackson" to Stecca Bread".   A special treat will be a visit to the Sigal Music Museum.  This is a true hidden gem featuring a rare musical instrument collection such as a harpsichord played by a young Mozart and a piano played by Chopin!  On departure day, we experience more of the region with a stop at City Scape Winery for a wine tasting, lunch and views of the mountains.

I love to travel so in my partially retired life I decided to adapt my passion for travel along with 25 years of experience in Travel & Tourism to create Trips by Patty. I received a BA in American History from UNC-Chapel Hill. Not knowing what I was going to do with that degree, I started working as a desk clerk at a hotel in Raleigh. I enjoyed the hotel business and the career path began. Hotel operations and sales, Convention Center operations and marketing, destination marketing with a Convention Visitors Bureau and even a stint as a tour guide. What happened to the history degree? Well, many times when I am escorting my trips I share the history of the destinations we visit. It's a great feeling to take your career skills and adapt them to your own small business. I love what I do and hope you'll join me on a trip one day!

We had a great day trip!

I enjoyed the trip. The Biltmore was in its Christmas splendor, the tour of the grounds was informative, the food at the Grove Park Inn was delicious, the shopping was great, and the accommodations comfortable. I’m glad the trip wasn’t cancelled. The people of Asheville were very appreciative of our patronage.

The trip was very well organized, enjoyable with various interesting stops along the route, such as Farmers Markets and Folk-Art Museum! We truly enjoyed the main attraction, Christmas at Biltmore, with it's breath taking beauty and charm! Comfortable accommodations, in particular the new smooth riding bus, and the company of friendly people made this trip and all around pleasant experience! Thank you, very well done Patty!
