About this trip

Welcome to The Land of Enchantment Taos, New Mexico Retreat! Northern New Mexico is truly a unique and enchanted slice of the southwest. Experience the Spirit of Taos, New Mexico for  yourself!

Join your hosts Loren Lotus and Kate Morris for a soulful, nourishing weekend in the Southwest. Gather with a group of incredible, likeminded yogis & seekers to explore all the elements and unique nature all around us.

Taos is a powerful, mystical place in Northern America, preserved for thousands of years by the indigenous Taos Pueblo natives. You're invited to visit these sacred lands as we reconnect to the energy around us, within us and offer respect to each powerful element day by day.

We will dive into each element; fire, earth, water, air and ether to deepen our relationship and understanding of each element around us and within us; and how to respect the power of each.

We're inviting you to this sacred land to hold us in it's magic as we reconnect, reset and balance the energy of our inner and outer worlds. Now more than ever, we are being called to balance the Yin and the Yang, the feminine and the masculine and the inner and outer worlds of our mind, body & Spirit.

Lotus Retreats has carefully curated this weekend with daily morning & evening; Yoga, Asana, meditation and mindfulness practices to guide us back into relationship with our bodies, minds, hearts, breath & soul.

Each day of the retreat will also highlight an element for us to explore through river hikes, mountain treks, fire ceremony, and mindfulness in the open, spacious air. We'll also enjoy soaks in natural hot springs, cold river plunges, time in the pine forest and in the open desert mesa. Taos offers a variety of landscapes for us to deepen with Mother Nature.

We'll also explore the Native Taos Pueblo with guidance from our very own Pueblo family to share their traditions and welcome us into their homes for a true, authentic taste of ancient and modern Taos Pueblo culture.

Optional activities like river rafting the Rio Grande or site seeing the famous Rio Grande Gorge, Visiting the Earthships, Horseback riding or shopping the Southwestern Art are all encouraged!

Katelyn Morris

A student of nature, yoga, womanhood and the mysteries of life– Katelyn curates heartfelt and nurturing offerings to serve her community through education, ritual, and creative expression. Raised in the Appalachian mountains of Pennsylvania, she discovered a great love for the earth that has led her to seek the solace and wisdom of mountains all across the world. The harmony and balance of nature’s intelligent ecosystems endlessly uplift and inspire her. That inspiration fuels her work as a creative, educator, somatic movement practitioner, space holder, & community builder.

Musically trained since childhood, she weaves healing soundscapes into her offerings using voice and a variety of acoustic instruments, honoring the power of sound to ground and center.

She believes that humans are intrinsically woven into the fabric of nature and that the world is currently going through a deep process of remembering this truth.

Andrea Elena

Andrea is a multi faceted facilitator. One of her hats is nourishing people through food. She invites in an ancestral way of eating with the seasons to any space she cooks for. She believes that nourishment is a deeply intimate practice with self and with body. She comes alive at the opportunity to support people through nourishment. From cooking the food, to pausing and taking a moment of gratitude before eating the food, to mindful chewing and digesting. She weaves in her knowledge around eating with the seasons and the importance of mindful eating.

Sedona Soul of the Earth Women's Retreat, October 2024 I had the privilege of attending the Sedona Soul of the Earth Women's Retreat in October 2024, not as a guest, but as the main chef's assistant in the kitchen. Despite my role being behind the scenes, the experience was nothing short of transformational and heart-activating. The retreat was in the breathtaking landscapes of Sedona, which provided a serene and spiritual backdrop for container. From the moment I arrived, I was held by the amazing energy brought by both the facilitators and the guests. The atmosphere was charged with positivity, openness, and a genuine desire for connection. Over the course of just four days, I felt a profound bond forming with the 16 incredible women attending the retreat. We held space for one another to be fully ourselves, without judgment or hesitation, fostering deep and meaningful connections that I believe will last a lifetime. Loren, the organizer, did a beautiful job ensuring everyone was comfortable and well taken care of throughout the entire time. Her attention to detail and genuine care for each participant was evident in every aspect of the retreat. The Elemental Weavers, who facilitated many of the sessions, were strong and inspiring leaders. They guided us through various activities that were both grounding and elevating, helping us to connect more deeply with ourselves and the natural world around us. Even though my primary role was in the kitchen, assisting in preparing nourishing meals for the group, I felt fully included in the retreat's activities and the sense of community that was cultivated. The shared meals became a time of joy and connection, where stories were exchanged, laughter was abundant, and hearts were opened. The transformational power of this retreat extended beyond the scheduled sessions. The informal moments—sunrise meditations, walks amidst the red rocks, and evenings under the starlit sky—were filled with introspection. Witnessing and being part of such authentic interactions was truly heartwarming. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have been part of the Sedona Soul of the Earth Women's Retreat. It was an unforgettable experience that touched my heart and soul in ways I couldn't have imagined. I walked away not only with new friendships but also with a renewed sense of self and a deeper appreciation for the power of community and shared experiences. I highly recommend this retreat to any woman seeking personal growth, connection, and a transformative journey in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Loren is such an inspiration! I found the course very insightful. She shares great tools in which to work towards hosting your own retreat. Really happy I was introduced to her and will continue to work towards my vision. Thank you Loren <3

I am so grateful for Loren sharing her years of knowledge & experience with us in this wonderful online course. Her honest guidance & inspirational feedback has been so helpful along this journey. From templates, checklists, open-ended Q&A time, prompts for self reflection & gentle deadlines to encourage motivation, this training has you covered! I have now successfully hosted my own content creation retreat for photographers & creatives, since taking this course. & I am still finalizing plans on a future yoga retreat as well. Loren follows through with this course with support, encouragement, & guidance even long after the zoom calls end. This offering has definitely helped me to gain the confidence & knowledge needed to finally take the leap to sharing my own retreats. It was also great to meet other like-minded folks, who were all able to come together, brainstorm, & share ideas with one another.

I would highly recommend this training!! Loren is such a great space and wisdom holder for questions, insights, and anything that may come up around leading, planning, and coordinating a successful retreat. This training is perfect for you if you're wanting to gain deeper insight into what it looks like to host a retreat, how to plan and market a successful retreat, and are also wanting to connect with other like-minded individuals as well. Loren shares tips and what she has learned from her own experience leading retreats all around the world I found very helpful and valuable. Taking this training not only helped me to feel more confident in my abilities to plan, host, and lead retreats but I also got the opportunity to connect with others that are interested in doing similar things. Having this community felt very grounding for me and helped me to take the next step and get out of my comfort zone when it comes to my dream of hosting and leading retreats. Thank you Loren!

First and foremost, apologies for this super overdue review. I just realized that I haven't left a review for Loren Lotus, but periodically I have thought about this magical retreat I went on with Loren in 2018 to Colombia. Loren was very communicative about all the trip details beforehand, and planned very special programs; a small trip to the neighboring village with a local guide, interesting workshops with great guest teachers, etc. although she is an amazing instructor! The retreat venue was magical and was very accommodating about everyone's dietary restrictions. I spent possibly the best week of my life, and I am forever grateful for that experience. Highly recommend it if you are looking for something to nourish your mind, body, and heart. Thank you Loren. I hope you are doing well! Sending love.

I had an amazing experience in Colombia with Lotus Retreats in July 2023. Loren and Rachel are fantastic women who lead with love and light. They show so much care and respect towards each person's experience and offer each guest the opportunity to make their trip as busy or relaxed as they wish it to be. I highly recommend the excursions, as I got to experience more of Colombia and the history of its culture; however, they are optional, which is great on days when a guest would prefer some time spent in reflection. The daily yoga offerings were my favorite part, as they brought different styles of yoga, pranayama techniques, and sound healing into class. And finally, the freshly prepared, locally-sourced meals were INCREDIBLE. My body is still thanking me!
