About this trip

Take a break. Drop in. Soften into yourself.

Join us for a serene, rejuvenating three-day retreat at Green Gulch Farm, a Zen center with a vast garden and farm, Japanese-style accommodations and a fully equipped yoga studio nestled between the trees and ocean. Led by Margi Young, this retreat is designed to help you break away  from everyday life and drop into a quiet place, connecting with your body, breath, and inner landscape. During the retreat, you will be invited to explore a variety of optional writing prompts, led by professional writer/editor/Hagar Scher.

What to expect:

  • Daily Yoga Sessions: Experience Margi’s signature style of yoga, with a focus on breath, alignment, mindfulness, and JOY! All necessary yoga props will be provided. The practices will be designed for those who have been practicing yoga for at least one year.
  • Guided Meditation & Pranayama: Delve into deep stillness and clarity through guided attention and breath practices. There will also be the opportunity to sit with the Zen community at Green Gulch.
  • Writing Explorations: The retreat includes dedicated time for writing, guided by Hagar Scher. The prompts are intended as a fun, creative way for you to reflect on what’s going on inside and get curious about your surroundings and path. A journal will be provided for your use.
  • Nature: Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Green Gulch Farm, with opportunities for hikes and peaceful walks through the Zen center’s extensive gardens and farm. Gorgeous Muir Beach is an easy 20-minute walk from the property, a perfect spot for a cold plunge in the Pacific. Additionally, there is a sauna on the property for further relaxation and rejuvenation.
  • Six vegetarian meals made with LOVE, with ingredients sourced mainly from the Green Gulch farm. First meal is Wednesday dinner and the last will be Friday lunch.

I always enjoy Margi's class, so spending a whole day under her care and instruction is special. Her approach to yoga is playful and encourages an exploration of movement and her adjustments, whether physical/hands-on adjustments or verbal cues, always help to get me a little deeper into a pose. Green Gluch is also an amazing place to get to spend the day, the people at the Zen Center are beautiful hosts.

Delightfully carefree, comfortable and thoughtfully put together. Appropriately challenging for a broad level of abilities. Setting was very special and food hit the spot.

Only wish I could have come earlier, stayed later: I didn't want it to end. Lovely environs, yoga room, delicious lunch. Margi is worth following anywhere but it was a delight to follow her to Green Gulch.

Awesome day, as always, when taking a retreat with Margi. A treat to the nervous system and a lovely way to spend a Sunday.

Margi's retreats are perfectly balanced with all the elements to support my journey toward spiritual enlightenment and well-being. I always mindfully walk away with a full spirit, enriched, nourished and loved. Green Gulch is a beautiful foundation to practice wellness. Thank you for your teachings, Margi
