About this trip

What you need is a break. Spend a weekend of rest, relaxation, and healing among the tranquil pine trees of Durward's Glen Retreat Center. There will be plenty of inner wellness workshops, crafting activities, and free time to practice the art of slow living.

Weekend Overview

*Everything during this retreat is totally optional! No pressure to attend everything or ANYTHING at all. Spend your time how you'd like to!*


Friday: Arrive & Welcome In Relaxation

  • 1:00 to 6:00 pm: Check-in at Durward's Glen, enjoy quiet time to decompress and relax
  • 6:00 pm: Welcome orientation and family-style supper
  • 7:00 to 8:30 pm: Heart Healing Workshop focusing on slowing down and being present
  • 8:30 - 9:30 pm: Quiet time, down time, and encouraged early bedtime

Saturday: Dive Into The Art of Slow Living

  • Morning
    • 7:00 - 10:00 am: Slow, cozy breakfast prepared by "Chef Mary" and coffee clutch
    • 7:30 am: Morning movement: a gentle outdoor walk to connect with nature, listen to the birds, and breath in the fresh air
    • 9:30 am: Group Session (curated workshop focused on the art of slow living)
    • 11:00 am: Solace in the stillness: quiet creative expression time - arts & crafts projects, reading, journaling, walking the trails, prayer or meditation
  • Afternoon
    • 12:00 pm: Nourishing lunch
    • 12:30 - 2:00 pm: Solace in the stillness: quiet creative expression time - arts & crafts, reading, journaling, walking the trails, reflection, individual meeting with Retreat Director, prayer or meditation
    • 2:00 pm: Group Session (curated workshop focused on the art of slow living)
    • 3:30 - 5:30 pm: Solace in the stillness: quiet creative expression time - arts & crafts, reading, journaling, walking the trails, reflection, individual meeting with Retreat Director, prayer or meditation
    • 4:30 pm: Be Present Hour & Group Session (curated workshop focused on the art of slow living)
    • 6:30 pm: Comforting family-style supper
    • 7:00 pm: Bonfire gathering: sharing stories & connecting with others

Sunday: Implementing The Art of Slow Living

  • 7:00 - 10:00 am: Quiet breakfast & coffee clutch
  • 9:15 - 10:00 am: Solace in the stillness: quiet creative expression time - arts & crafts, reading, journaling, walking the trails, reflection, individual meeting with Retreat Director, prayer or meditation
  • 10:00 am: Group Session (curated workshop focused on the art of slow living)
  • 11:00 - 12:30 pm: Closing reflection practice, light lunch, and self check-out

From reminders to unplug and relax to leading journaling sessions, Jeri will ensure your retreat weekend is as relaxing as possible. Jeri's goal is to provide exceptional hospitality, activities centered around the being present, and a smooth retreat experience.

The weekend was well planned. The choices for activities were great. Stephen was a fantastic guide. The food was excellent. It was really nice that it wasn't too crowded. My only thought would be, better kleenex would be nice. Overall, it was a fantastic experience!
