"One more day please" is what I usually hear with my two day trips to Savannah so here, it is - three days in Savannah!
You could spend a lifetime in historic Savannah and still not discover all of its secrets but this trip gives you an opportunity to try through a combination of planned activities and tours as well as "free lance" time.
One of the trip highlights is a night of hilarity from the famous and entertaining Savannah Bananas baseball team. It is impossible to get tickets to this highly popular event but by golly, I got them! You're guaranteed a good time whether or not you are a Baseball fan. It's a sporting, cirque style, New Orleans vibe event that is so much fun! The Bananas have become such a phenomena and have been featured on ESPN, Fox Sports, CBS Sunday Morning or Access Hollywood to mention a few. And you won't want to miss the cheerleaders "the Savannah Nana's"! But if you are more inclined to enjoy a banana for breakfast rather than at a baseball game, the cost of the game will be deducted and the trip organizer will provide you with other evening alternatives.
Other plans include a narrated trolley tour of the Historic District and a 2-Day Unlimted trolley shuttle so that you can explore on your own. After all, there are only 22 historic squares to visit, each unique but home to beautiful southern homes, museums, historic churches and one of my favorites, the Prohibition Museum! The tour also includes a stop at a Savannah "must see", The Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist
Our hotel, The Historic River Street Inn, not only provides wonderful riverfront views of the huge lumbering international cargo ships, but is situated in the heart of the Historic District for optimizing your visit.
By the second day, you will really have a good idea of what you will want to enjoy before we go to the "sport's greatest show on earth" that evening. The shuttle is at your disposal and you can get on and off at any of the 10 stops. Your trip host will be your concierge with suggestions, maps and Visitor Guides. A stroll down the famous Bull Street, a visit to the City Market, exploration of the Design District, an impressive art collection inside the walls of a southern mansion, the unique Prohibition Museum or even a riverboat cruise are a few of the options. You can even begin the day with an optional two hour walking tour led by a storyteller of the famous Bonaventure Cemetery. This has been voted one of the top 10 most beautiful cemeteries in the world and the subject of author John Berendt's book "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil".
Plus food is always a fun part of travel and you will find no shortage of restaurants for all budgets within walking distance of the hotel.
Night owls take note too - Savannah has vibrant music venues close to the hotel!

Savannah does experience "pop-up" storms but it is rare that the entire game is cancelled. The philosophy is that the "show must go on" even if the Banana Ball entertainment is shortened or delayed. Our "open seating" tickets offer seating under cover.
