I had a really great time on this trip. We travel arranged everything for me, and Tania, in particular, was amazing; professional, efficient and friendly. She was always at available on WhatsApp, in case I had any issues. I would thoroughly recommend WeTravel, and in especially Tania.
This was the first leg of our overall two week trip and it was incredible. Tania set this trip up for us and it was truly a life changing experience. She was so great to work with for planning and even met us in person at the front and back of our stay.
We stayed in Cusco for the first few days and got to experience Christmas Eve at the Plaza de Armas. We checked out a few ruins and tourist spots but mostly enjoyed walking around, checking out different restaurants and bars and loved going to the local theater to see local dances and music.
We then started our Machu Picchu trip on Christmas morning. Our tour guide Wily took us through Sacred Valley to Chichanero, the Salt Mines, Moray before we went to lunch in the valley before catching our train to Aguas Calientes. It was a really cool trip through the Andes. Gorgeous drive.
Machu Picchu was incredible. We went early with our guide and hit a bit of rain first, but it quickly became a beautiful day. We spent several hours walking around and learning about the site/taking in the scenery. Lived up to its name.
We stayed one more night in Cusco after we got back before we flew to Puerto Maldonado for our Amazon rainforest trip. This was my favorite part and truly was amazing.,
We took a 2.5 hour boat ride into the jungle before we got to our lodge, and spent the next three nights/four days trekking through the jungle with our awesome guide Joel. We fished for piranhas, did night tours, crossed rivers on suspended bridges, saw all kinds of wildlife and exotic plants, and were treated to an incredible half week by the lodge staff.
I would do this trip over again in a heartbeat. Thank you Tania, Wily, Joel and all the rest who helped make this so memorable for us.
