About this trip

CAT and our Guide provided us with top shelf service - very attentive to our needs, super informative, made us feel safe and went above and beyond what we expected.  The cave tubing was remarkable - Joeney Mesh is the best there is. We saw so much more of the cave and learned so much about Mayan rituals. Zip line through the jungle was incredible. Thank you Joeney and Michael for a wonderful vacation at the Cayo district!

What a great trip and a beautiful day!  Started from San Miguel Campground in the Mountain Pine Ridge, Glamping.  Took a ride to Secret waterfall and then 1000ft falls.  Equipment was top notch!  I loved my electric ATV. A few muddy spots that were fun but we stayed mostly on roads.  Try it!!

ATV Ride to El Pilar Maya Ruins

Cayo is the best! We used them for two full day tours (ATM & Xunantunich) and both ended up private excursions for my girlfriend and I. We were shocked. I can’t promise you’ll have the same experience, but we were told they typically have small groups. I’m sad I didn’t book all 3 of our San Ignacio tours with them because Maya Walks was so disorganized and inferior even though we saved some money going with them to Caracol. Oops.

What an incredible experience! Well worth the time and travel. We thoroughly enjoyed the atm tourcwith knowledgeable guides telling us the history throughout the tour. Highly recommend 

ATM Cave Tour

Hugh took us to the border and was very informative about Belizean life.
We crossed into Guatemala and met Christian who took us onto Tikal. 
This a massive site with temples in various stages of restoration.
It is amazing to see those structures that are still fully covered by the jungle vs those completely restored.
These are massive and very high complex structures demonstrating how advanced Mayan culture was. 
You also get great canopy views from multiple places too.
And Howlers, Spider monkeys, Agoutis, Coatis, Toucans etc...can be seen around the site.
Something for everyone. 

Tikal

Jonnie was a fun and knowledgeable guide for this must see easy access tour. 
We got to walk into the site and see both species of Iguanas and many birds.
This site is well preserved and much restored. There is also a fantastic interpretation center/museum with a model site and maps to orient you.

Explore the Ancient Marvels of Xunantunich (Diccon Westworth)

Amazing experience. Very knowledgeable guide- Gonzo - who has been part of the archeological dig for years. Learn all there is to know about the 1000+ years of Mayan cave dwelling rituals and culture. Great walk in with safe river crossings. Thrilling cave tour with rushing water. 

Lucky us! After an incredible ATM trip, we took a second tour with Cayo Adventures and were fortunate to tour with Gonzo again! This adventure is challenging, as advertised-tight squeezes, questionable footing. If you enjoy focused and thoughtful navigating, this tour is for you. The prize of reaching Neverland is an amazing treat. The world is wonderful, beautiful, weird-really really special. 

Unveil the Secrets of Crystal Cave

It was a privilege to see behind the curtain of Ancient Maya Culture. I worried it would somehow feel commercial. That couldn’t be further from my experience. It was amazing. 

Crossing the river multiple times, scrambling rocks, and even a couple small climbs added to the adventure. Really fun and like nothing I’ve experienced before. 

Our guide Gonzo is a local archeologist who does extensive fieldwork in the area caves and works with university researchers across the globe. He is an awesome, extremely knowledgeable, attentive, and kind guide. An off the charts experience. 

We were met promptly and we loved Hugh our Driver! We were lucky to have him again on our way back to the airport as well. Only downside is that if we had needed to fit 4 days of groceries for our party of 10 as well as our luggage we might not have had enough room. Make sure you reiterate your luggage and other space needs.

Tikal Mayan Ruins

An incredible experience exploring the Xunantunich ruins. We took a guided tour through Cayo Adventure Tours and definitely appreciated our guide's knowledge of Mayan history.

We had an absolutely amazing experience exploring the ATM Cave. We learned so much about the history of this special place and it was probably the most memorable excursion we've ever taken. Cayo Adventures Tours took care of all the arrangements, including pick up from the airport and returning us back to Belize City to catch the water taxi to Caye Caulkner for the remainder of our holiday. Highly recommend.

I had a very tight schedule and wanted to see many things. Cayo Adventure Tours accommodated my wishes and created a custom package. We had a bump in the beginning but it all worked out, with the help of awesome guides Allan and Jamir and my driver High. I especially enjoyed company and the knowledge from Allan, who was the guide for Xunantunich and Caracol, and Hugh, my driver on the second day, who both felt almost like guardian angels. 

If the road ever brings you to the Cayo region of Belize, book with Cayo Adventure Tours, their guides are local, very knowledgeable, friendly and kind. Your will learn a lot while having a blast!
