After our breakfast for our Morning tour of Swayambhunath Temple, we check out of the hotel, Kathmandu Durbar Square – A World Heritage Site, Ason Market ending in Thamel – the tourist hub for lunch.

We go to the domestic airport for our short flight to Pokhara in the afternoon. Then, we walk around the Lakeside in Pokhara and do some last-minute buying or hiring trekking equipment. Afterwards, we will go to one of the many restaurants for dinner 

Early morning flight to Jomsom. We will get in jeeps to drive towards Ghami. We will have to stop at a couple of places to register with the polices and have lunch. Afterwards, we will go via Muktinath 3750 to allow your bodies to acclimate to the altitude.

We stay in the lovely Royal Mustang owned by a cousin of The Mustang King in Ghami 3565 meters.

We have a relatively short day of 3-4 hours of trekking to allow you to acclimatise to the altitude. After that, we will hike through lovely red and yellow hills to Dhakmar 3825 meters.

We trek through Lho Ghekar and visit Ghar Gompa. Ghar Gompa is the oldest Tibetan monastery. It was constructed in the 8th century by Guru Rinpoche or Guru Padmasambhava (The Lotus Born), the founder of Tibetan Buddhism. Ghar Gompa is situated at an elevation of 3931 meters above sea level. Ghar Gompa is related to the Nyingma sect of Buddhism.

We can have early lunch at Ghar Gompa prepared together by our chef and the Buddhist monks. After lunch, we have a longer 5-hour hike, traversing part two small passes (small in the Himalayan context) above 4000 meters before reaching Lomanthang 3840 meters. 6 hours trek.

In the morning, we explore and visit Jamba, Thupchen and Choede, the three monasteries within the walled city of Lo Manthang. Option to visit Samdrupling Monastery and Marchung Cave in the afternoon. 

We take jeeps to explore several villages, monasteries, Choser, and the Jhong Caves close to Lo Manthang. It will be an exhilarating day to visit ancient monasteries and the Jhong Caves, where people dwelled 700 years ago.

Today is an excellent full day of trekking amidst sensational scenery. First, we trek for 4-5 hours before reaching Dhi, where we have lunch. Then, we continue for another two hours to get to Yara, where we stop for the night. 3610 meters. 6 hours trek 

We have an option of hiking to Luri Gompa and returning to Yara, 4 hours return journey. Those who don’t feel like it can just chill out at Yara.

Luri Gumba, a Buddhist monastery, is a unique monastery built in a cave. There are several chortens, statues of Buddhist deities and mandala paintings inside this Gompa in a cave.

Our jeeps at Yara pick us up and drive back to Jomsom. We will stop at Tsarang for some time to explore the Palace ruins and surrounding monuments before continuing on our drive to Jomsom. 5-6 hour drive 

 We have an early morning flight to Pokhara. Pokhara is a lovely city with a beautiful lake. You can shop, get massages or chill out in the countless cafes and restaurants 

In Pokhara. The group can book a tandem paraglide flight in the morning. We booked our paragliding with a company owned by one of the two guys who got to the summit of Everest, paraglided down to the Sunkoshi river and then kayaked to the Bay of Bengal. They won the National Geography Adventurers of the year 2012.

Or the group can choose to relax at the hotel or the numerous cafes and restaurants by Phewa Lake before our afternoon flight back to Kathmandu.
