Upon arrival in Rome meet up with other teammates/staff, traveling family members and your bilingual tour manager. Load your motor coach and head into Rome city center. Be introduced to Piazza Navona, then have free time for your first Italian lunch at one of the abundant cafes, restaurants or pizzerias. Regather for a guided, exciting educational tour of the classic sites including the incredible Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and more. Eventually make your way toward the Roman Forum, the center of Western civilization for a millennium, then into the incomparable Roman Coliseum. Afterward enjoy a delicious Italian dinner together then move to check-in at your Rome area hotel to get some well-earned rest.

Players will have their first USA-AFW ELITE practice early in the morning (playbooks electronically distributed before departure). Upon return and an early lunch, the group will depart to Vatican City a separate independent state within Rome.  Tour the extensive, highly-impressive Vatican Museums which displays an incredible amount of history, along with the remarkable Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica and Square.  In the mid-afternoon return to Piazza Navona where in small groups you can further explore Rome and then have a delicious Italian dinner of your choosing. Your tour manager and AFW coaches will be available to advise and escort. By early-to-mid evening meet the motor coach to return to your hotel.

The players will be up early for Practice #2 when more offensive and defensive schemes are installed. Upon return to the hotel family member will be ready to go as player quickly shower for departure north. View the beautiful, rolling-hill countryside of Italy and Tuscany's "Green Valley". Hilltop cities will enthrall. Arrive in Siena to receive a tour of this city that fiercely rivaled nearby Florence. See the beauty of Siena's Duomo (Cathedral), learn of the fascinating Palio horserace tradition, and certainly enjoy time - a refreshment or a gelato - in its captivating shell-shaped square (the "Campo").  The group will then depart to the spa town of Montecatini Terme outside of Florence for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast load the motor coach for nearby Florence. Upon arrival be treated to a guided walking tour of Florence starting from Piazza della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio and its old shops, Palazzo Vecchio to the Basilica of Santa Maria del Fiore with its imposing duomo. Florence will reveal itself as one of the most artistically beautiful cities in the world. Then enjoy a group lunch followed by free time. With advance planning you can visit Michelangelo’s David at the Accademia, one of the other world-renowned art galleries located in the Uffizi or Pitti Palace or explore Florence’s fascinating outdoor markets. In the later afternoon, the team will move to a nearby local athletic field to practice and scrimmage with members of the Guelfi American Football Club. This will be a player highlight of the tour. Family members are encouraged to continue to enjoy the many phenomenal sites and experiences that Florence has to offer. Eventually all will regather and after a fantastic day return to your overnight accommodations.

After a morning 'clean-up' practice and special team focus, the team and tour group will move to the Mediterranean Coast to enjoy Cinque Terra – the “Italian Riviera” – which consists of five authentic Italian villages situated beneath or on steep hills where the Ligurian Sea laps against the shores. The five villages are linked by a convenient rail line. During the day, explore this uniquely beautiful area in small groups and enjoy a picturesque lunch in a hillside restaurant overlooking the sea or at a quaint beachfront bistro. For this stop you may want to take off your shoes and stroll in the waters on the sandy beaches of Monterosso or the rocky shore of Vernazza. In the later afternoon load your motor coach and venture north to your final destination just north of Milan.  Check-in, freshen up and enjoy a late dinner.

Following breakfast the group will depart to nearby Switzerland and the enchanting lakeside town of Lugano.  Receive a tour and be 'wowed' by the Swiss lifestyle. You will have time for lunch on your own in small groups. Afterward the group will move back into Italy for time in Como at the tip of famous Lake Como. Stroll the lake, take the funicular up for a 'bird's eye' view or explore the streets of the charming town. Take time for another gelato or lakeside refreshment. In the early evening the group will return to its hotel for dinner, final meetings and rest before tomorrow's international contest.

After breakfast load up football and fan gear heading to nearby Milan for a concise tour of this remarkable city that for centuries served as the gateway for the Roman Empire to central Europe currently doing the same for Italy as is its financial and fashion capital. Amongst other highlights visit imposing Sforza's Castle, Milan's beautiful cathedral and the nearby Galleria shopping center. The group will have lunch and then proceed to the stadium. You will have a most unique thrill running out in the Red, White and Blue to represent the USA! After earning respect on the game field enjoy some fun social time with the Italian players and families.  The AFW group will proceed to a restaurant for a celebration dinner then return to the hotel to continue celebrating - after making sure all are packed-up for the early morning flight home.

Morning transportation to the Milan airport for your return flight home to the USA. After a thrilling, full and fast-paced week it is likely you will sleep a good amount on the flight :-). You will have grown tremendously, made incomparable memories and established some great friendships. There will be much to share with other family and friends in the days and weeks after arriving at home.
