Description of the Sleeping Lion Galapagos Tour
The day before, the guide will meet with the passenger at the hotel to give him some instructions and information for the trip. The next day he will meet with the guide at the meeting point at 7:30 am where they will embark for 1 1/2 hours towards Kicker Rock. The program has a visit to two different places, the first will be the underwater lava formations at Kicker Rock, one of the most prominent snorkeling sites in the Galapagos.
On the surface you can see some of the many birds that inhabit the emerging towers from the ocean floor more than 500 feet high, where you can see Nazca Boobies, Blue-footed Boobies and Frigates. However, what will really surprise you are the wonders you will find underwater. Prepare to swim with the most emblematic fauna of the Galapagos: Hammerhead Sharks, Sea Turtles, Galapagos Sharks. The view is also to remember, the walls are connected below the surface through a channel 60 feet deep. On a good day, you can see the sand bottom of the canal formed by the two towering walls of Kicker Rock that house a rich wildlife. Box Lunch will be served on the boat, as these parts of the islands are uninhabited.
After visiting Kicker Rock, a complementary activity will take place. Depending on the day, you will visit the beach of Cerro Tijeretas, where you can swim and dive once more, or you will visit a deserted beach (Manglesito or Puerto Grande) to observe wildlife and relax in the pristine sand. We will return to the ship and return to San Cristóbal, the return time is scheduled around 4pm where we will finish our Sleeping Lion Tour Galapagos.
IMPORTANT NOTE: To complete this tour, you must be in San Cristóbal (Puerto Baquerizo) one day before departure.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The complementary activity of this excursion will take place before or after the snorkeling excursion in Kicker Rock. The site for the additional activity will depend on the day of the visit and will be chosen on site by the guide.
