About this trip

Join Blue Planet for the perfect winter weekend getaway to Providenciales, known as Provo, in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Still relatively undiscovered, Provo offers warm weather, clear water, white sand beaches and miles of barely explored reefs.

PROVO

Just south of the Bahamas, the Turks and Caicos are actually 40 different islands and cays, but only eight are inhabited. The Columbus Passage, a 22-mile-wide channel, separates the Turks Islands from the Caicos Islands.

A jewel in the Caribbean, the island of Providenciales offers some of the most spectacular beaches and ocean water in the world. From the unparalleled and internationally acclaimed Grace Bay Beach, to the sheltered and secluded Taylor Bay and Sapodilla Bay beaches, you’ll realize you’ve found paradise.

The alluring turquoise waters of the Turks and Caicos Islands feature a vast, thriving coral reef ecosystem. Scuba diving in the Turks and Caicos is both accessible and impressive with breathtaking walls. With protected reefs dropping well past recreational dive limits just offshore, it’s easy to see why this is a diver’s paradise.

THE DIVING

Minimum dive certification/experience:  Perfect for beginners. A great spot to complete your Open Water Diver certification, Advanced Open Water Diver and more.

A large area of the coast of Provo comprises the Princess Alexandra National Park within which there is no commercial or sport fishing allowed. As a result we can see a profusion of marine life at local dive sites, much of which remains undisturbed in its reef habitat by visiting divers. Even outside the boundaries of the Princess Alexandra National Park, the dive operators all happily support a policy of reef preservation and conservation.

We'll be diving with DIve Provo, a PADI 5 Star Dive Center catering to experienced divers as well as novice divers and dive students. Dive Provo is dedicated to providing guests with convenient and trouble-free diving. The staff will even set up your gear for your dive and break it down and rinse it at the end of the day. Just pack your bag, leave it on the dive boats and it will be ready for your next dive.

PORTS OF CALL RESORT

The Ports of Call Resort is located within the beautiful Grace Bay area, a short 15 minute drive from Providenciales airport. The property layout comprises of a central building featuring a welcoming reception, business center, breakfast room, fitness room, and poolside bar. Rooms are located in two three-story buildings (no elevator) surrounding a lush tropical pool area that creates an intimate boutique setting. All rooms feature new furniture, upgraded bathrooms and a sitting area with full-size sofa bed and more. Wireless Internet access is available throughout the property and all stays include complimentary continental breakfast.

Had a great time, great people, great accommodations. Thanks to Blue Planet for a well executed trip, looking to see where we will end up next!

It was an amazing experience! The diving in Mozambique was a bit rough for me; water was cold and the current was a little too strong, but it was a great experience, nonetheless. The safari at Tau Lodge was incredible. We saw so many animals up close, got great pictures and had absolutely phenomenal guides. They really catered to their customers and made it such a unique adventure.

Cold water wonder is an understatement! The diving was beautiful, the resort was scenic, and the food was amazing. I highly recommend getting dry suit certified to be able to do this trip. Heather and Jonas did a great job leading the trip, making sure everyone had a great time.

It was a great diving trip. I enjoyed the group. Anthony from Blue Planet was a great, and very knowledgeable organizer and trip lead. His experience and knowledge as a Dive Instructor also became very evident. I enjoyed the trip.

Blue planet is absolutely spectacular - I try to go on at least one trip a year with them! They've taught me everything I know about diving and show incredible care and dedication to their divers. The trips are absolutely incredible; I wish it was possible to rate them six stars instead of five! I cannot recommend them highly enough and intend to keep diving with them for years to come.
