Entry Permits and Visas:

Recommended Dates to APPLY FOR VIA: July 15, 2024 - August 30, 2024  for Regular service. This means July 15 is the first day you can apply for a visa. If you missed the suggested deadline of August 30, Then you MUST pay for expedited services.

  • Processing times:
    • Regular service ($67): 15-20 business days upon receiving your application.
    • Expedited service ($107): 7 business days.
  • Single entry visas are valid for 90 days from the date of issue and must be used within that time frame.

Visas are required for all travelers except ECOWAS nationals and those with specific bilateral agreements with Ghana. Please refer to the Ghana Embassy website (https://ghanaembassydc.org/) for details on exempted countries.

  • All visa applications must be submitted online at www.ghanaembassydc.org. We highly recommend following the instructions precisely to avoid delays.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Cancellation Policy:

  • Full refund: You may cancel your booking within 24 hours of purchase to receive a full refund, in accordance with U.S. regulations.
  • Non-refundable after 24 hours: Cancellations made after 24 hours of booking are non-refundable, non-transferable, and no credits will be issued. This is due to the pre-booked nature of flights and activities for this trip.

Travel Insurance:

We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance immediately after booking to protect yourself from unforeseen circumstances that may lead to cancellation.

Flights Recommendations

International Flights:

Please note that you are responsible for securing your own international flights. The Global Intent is not liable for any price increases or last-minute booking fees associated with flights. Cancellations due to flight issues will not result in any credits or refunds from The Global Intent.


We recommend United Airlines or Delta Airlines.


Flights:

  • This trip itinerary is built around a non-stop roundtrip flight from Washington, D.C. (IAD) to Accra (ACC).
  • Arrival in Accra is expected to be around 9:00 AM local time.
  • Departure from Accra is expected to be around 11:00 PM local time.
  • Most flights departing the U.S. for this trip will likely be on October 17th between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM, and returning flights from Accra will likely be on October 26th around 7:00 AM or 11:00 PM.

Please note: These are just recommendations, and you are welcome to choose any airline that best suits your needs and preferences.


Ground Transportation:

To ensure a smooth arrival and departure, we will be coordinating ground transportation between the airport and your hotel based on your confirmed flight information.  Please submit your flight details by September 1st to be included in the airport transfer schedule.

Day 1-2:
Depart US & Explore Accra
  • Arrive in Accra and embark on a journey of discovery. Check into your hotel and savor a welcome dinner (on your own account).
  • Immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Accra on a full-day city tour. Visit the National Museum of History and Ethnography to learn about Ghana's rich past, explore the bustling Ga Mashie-Old Accra neighborhood, and pay homage to the Pan-African legacy of W.E.B. Du Bois. Savor a delicious lunch at a local restaurant (on your own account). After lunch, visit the newly refurbished Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and Mausoleum, then shopping at a local market. 
  • End the day with Dinner at a local restaurant or at the hotel (on your own) before enjoying an optional nightlife experience. 
  • Local seamstress will be available to design custom attire for purchase
