Schedule

We will do our best to get you out shooting as much as possible! This is not a photo-vacation, but more of a photo bootcamp. We will be up very early every morning and out ro locations in time to photograph sunrise and through the golden hour. Each afternoon, we will be out early scouting and shooting through golden hour and till after sunset.

Day One: Meet & Greet starting at 4pm followed by a sunset photo shoot.

Day Two - Four: We will be out each day for both sunrise and sunset shoots (each outing will be 3-4 hours). During the middle of the day you will have time for rest and meals. We will have a post processing classroom on Day Four at 1pm - 4pm.

Day Five: Sunrise/morning shoot. Workshop concludes in Bandon no later than 10am.

Difficulty

There are some locations that require hikes up to 1 mile each way over rocky and sometimes uneven terrain. We will be walking and shooting along the coastline and you can expect to be down where the water and waves are breaking to get stunning landscape compositions. Be prepared to get wet! We will send a recomended set of gear 60 days in advence so you can be fully prepared for the workshop.

Weather and Clothing

Weather in coastal Oregon in early September is moderatloy warm and lovely - daytime temps averaging around 80 degrees with lows of 55 at night. Bringing layers to account for being out in various temperatures is recommended. While there is not a high chance of rain, it’s always good to be prepared, and because we’ll be photographing near the water/rocks, bringing a rain or waterproof cover for your camera and lens is wise. Please make sure to stay hydrated, drinking water throughout the day as well as the night.

We also highly recommend waders or river sandals with neoprene socks for photographing along the edge of the water.

Booking

A deposit of $500.00 USD is required to secure a space on this workshop. Final payment is due 60 days prior to the start of this workshop. There is no refund after the final payment has been made (unless we can fill your spot). Please see our cancellation policy for more detailed information.

My quest as a landscape and nature photographer is to showcase wild, beautiful and unique natural locations and to use my creative vision to capture those landscapes in high quality and evocative images that inspire awe in the viewer, respect for the natural world and ultimately a greater appreciation of wilderness and wilderness preservation. I have been leading workshop and photo tours for twenty years. I look forward to making your photo trip a great success.

This was a bucket list location for me. Joe helped me get the photos that I honestly thought I wouldn't be able to get. He is professional and a great teacher. This was my second workshop with Joe and I am looking forward to joining him on future workshops!

Joe went above and beyond to make sure that everyone was comfortable and getting the help they needed. There was a perfect blend of field and post-processing instructions. Joe was always there to answer any questions about camera settings, composition and basically anything that was needed. The small group size was perfect. He is a master at landscape photography and his passion for the subject is truly inspiring. I am looking forward to book another workshop with him.

I just returned from the Caddo Lake workshop and have downloaded more than 2,000 photos and am blown away by how many shots are are great. Joe is a great instructor who points in in the right direction to get the best shots, plus his Lightroom instruction is the best that I ever had, his knowledge of the lake and all the best spots for photography is unmatched due to his many years at Caddo Lake. I truly enjoyed this workshop with Joe and the two other participants. I was sorry that the end came so soon.

I'd been wanting to visit Caddo Lake for several years and chose to visit the swamp this fall with Joseph Rossbach Photography. His years of experience traveling and photographing Caddo Lake served me well to capture several images I was very happy with upon leaving Texas. Joe's professionalism and knowledge of photography should cater to beginners looking for full guidance and experienced photographers who may pick up specific tips to maximize their potential in this unique environment. I recommend taking a Joseph Rossbach Photography Tour for yourself!
