About this trip

Muy linda experiencia el tour de los cuadrones. Los guías nos hicieron pasa bien con su información turística y con sus bromas 🤣.   Nos pasamos muy bien que fue una de nuestras actividades favoritas en Baños. 
Les recomiendo visitarlos ya que hay la opción de reservar o llegar al local y ver los horarios de actividades del dia.


Cabalgata y San Martin

This was the highlight of our trip to Banos. Polo picked us up for a full day in the jungle. He was so kind and knowledgeable and we loved every part. The walk in the jungle to jump into Cascada Hola Vida was incredible and spiritual. The Community rituals were beautiful and canoing very serene. We ended at the cacao farm with hot cocoa and cheese bread.  a very satisfied group went home to bed so happy!! Thank you so much!!

What a great time. I scared for about 5 seconds and then it was just such an experience !

Paragliding / Parapente

The three people in my group booked 3 excursions - paragliding, rafting and waterfall canyoning.  The staff at Geotours were very professional and responsive. They were able to answer all my questions and respond to any concerns I had prior to booking the tours. The instructors were all amazing and provided a fun, safe experience!!  The videos and pictures were a bonus that we received at the end of our tours -would definitely book with them should I ever return which I would love to as Banos, Ecuador is an amazing place as well as the people :)

We had great time with Geotours activities. Jungle 1 day trip, bicycle trip around Baños water falls and paragliding. All activities were preformed with very experience guides.


We had a great experience, these horses are so welltrained and taken care of.

Canyoning Chamana Half Day

Geotours helped with all our activities in Banos. Rafting, zipline, kayak, horseback riding, hiking advice and canyoning. Great service fair prices and incredibly flexible when plans change.

We had a great time and our guide Paulo was awesome. We do feel though (not Paulo’s fault at all) that the tour doesn’t really go “into” the Amazon, you kind of spend 2 days very close to the same spot. The canoe is not to go deeper into the Amazon, but as a fun thing to do, which it was. Maybe we were looking to be a bit more immersed.

Especially for the price, $300 for 2 pax for one night is a bit steep for driving around the same area in a car.

Paulo’s knowledge was awesome, and uses for the plant life in traditional culture was amazing. He made us bracelets out of plant fibres as well.

So many options in Banos, but this company is great!! 

Looking for a thrilling adventure? This company will show you the ropes! We booked our tour with this company after reading many positive reviews from travel bloggers, and they didn’t let us down! The entire process was smooth. The guides were confident and knowledgable, fun and energetic, but most importantly, focused on getting us safely through the adventure. We didn’t have much/any experience with canyoning, and although it is ideal to be in good physical shape to do an activity like this, they will explain what you need to do (you just have to be courageous enough to do it)! The guides also spoke great English, if this is important for you to know. The guides took awesome photos and videos for us to remember our experience, and we got them on our phone the same day. The tour was a good length, and we were able to spend some time enjoying the canyon between jumps and rappels. After our tour, we asked to be dropped off at Pailon Del Diablo, and were able to explore on our own before catching the bus back to Baños. We definitely recommend this tour for anyone seeking adrenaline.

Canyoning Cashaurco – Half Day Tour level IV / Canyoning Cashaurco

A terrific experience! Roberto is an excellent guide - super knowledgable about the sights, sounds and smells along the route, and made sure we felt safe and secure before leaving and along the way. We quite literally stopped to smell the flowers and learn about the local customs and vegetation. He took great photos of us at Pailon del Diablo, and then we sat for lunch at a restaurant near the waterfall and had truly the best food we had on our whole trip to Ecuador (trout with fried plantains & rice)! Highly recommended. 

Waterfalls Tour – Half Day Tour

An amazing experience! Jorge and Dario were friendly and incredibly experienced, we felt well taken care of and totally safe (even though I was a scaredy cat!). I recommend this experience to anyone visiting Banos. 

Wir hatten die 4-stündige geführte Waterfall Biking Tour gebucht. Die Fahrräder waren sehr gut. Los ging es in Baños. Nach einigen Wasserfällen und einer abenteuerlichen Fahrt mit einer Seilbahn über eine Schlucht, erreichten wir nach 17,5km den spektakulären Wasserfall Pailon del Diablo. Trotz einiger Regenfälle, die uns die gesamte Tour über begleiteten, war die Tour insbesondere auch durch unseren tollen Führer Daniel ein sehr schönes Erlebnis und ein Höhepunkt unseres Aufenthaltes in Baños.

For me, this was a totally LAST MINUTE trip to Ecuador from Texas. Originally I had planned to spend all my time in Quito but knowing the Amazon was RIGHT there I decided to try to organize some cool experience and this was JUST the one I was looking for!  Traveling alone, I was grouped with a couple from Colorado who had signed up for a 2 day tour. Firstly, the staff could not have been nicer and so quick to respond to ALL my questions. Suggestions on hotels and how to arrive to Banos from Quito the night of my arrival. I will say this, this tour is NOT for anyone who has any kind of mobility issue. We literally walked THROUGH the jungle/rainforest in water boots through mud and water where it was super slippery. Bring walking sticks or ask the guide to find you some. Our tour was with Polo who was SO incredibly nice, knowledgeable and made our trip so pleseant. He spoke perfect English and was able to answer all our questions along the way. You definitely spend the night in a cabin with no glass for windows and the beds have nets over them to keep the bugs out. There are 2 electrical outlet connections in the cabin and the toilet and shower are just steps away (only cold water). Bring a quick dry towel because we do go swimming at the waterfalls, bring and apply lots of sunscreen and repellant. This tour and tour company is A+ in my book! Can't wait to book my next trip to the Amazon!!!

Para mí, este fue un viaje totalmente de ÚLTIMA HORA a Ecuador desde Texas. Originalmente había planeado pasar todo mi tiempo en Quito, pero sabiendo que el Amazonas estaba JUSTO allí, decidí intentar organizar una experiencia interesante y ¡ésta era SOLO la que estaba buscando! Viajando solo, me agruparon con una pareja de Colorado que se había inscrito en una gira de 2 días. En primer lugar, el personal no podría haber sido más amable y tan rápido en responder a TODAS mis preguntas. Sugerencias sobre hoteles y como llegar a Baños desde Quito la noche de mi llegada. Diré esto: este recorrido NO es para nadie que tenga algún tipo de problema de movilidad. Literalmente caminamos A TRAVÉS de la jungla/bosque tropical con botas de agua a través del barro y el agua, donde estaba súper resbaladizo. Traiga bastones o pídale al guía que le busque algunos. Nuestro recorrido fue con Polo, quien fue TAN increíblemente amable, conocedor e hizo que nuestro viaje fuera muy placentero. Hablaba un inglés perfecto y pudo responder todas nuestras preguntas a lo largo del camino. Definitivamente pasas la noche en una cabaña sin ventanas de vidrio y las camas tienen mosquiteros encima para mantener alejados a los insectos. Hay 2 tomas de corriente en la cabina y el inodoro y la ducha están a solo unos pasos (solo agua fría). Traiga una toalla de secado rápido porque vamos a nadar a las cascadas, traiga y aplique mucho protector solar y repelente. ¡Este tour y compañía de tours es A+ en mi libro! ¡¡¡No puedo esperar para reservar mi próximo viaje al Amazonas!!!

Amazing time! All the tour guides were so nice and fun. Made sure to catch the most waves. It was our first time but we all felt super safe. The photos they took that were included came out super well too! 10/10 recommend and would do it again.

Paragliding with the guides from geotours was a fantastic experience. We felt safe and in control, but also all the thrills of speed and flying.

We had an excellent time. Giovanni and Pablo (our guide and safety kayaker) created a relaxed and fun atmosphere, and the river was awesome.

GeoTours was amazing! We originally signed up for the 2 day 1 night tour, but three days prior decided to switch to the 1 day tour. Geotours happily obliged and refunded the additional amount. 

The actual tour was fantastic! Roberto was the best guide we could have hoped for, and the tour included everything and more compared to what was listed and explained prior. Definitely a highlight of our trip. Both the guide and driver were such a pleasure to spend the day with!

Ended up at Rio Blanco. Mirador was our guide, he was a lot of fun. Pointed out so many different plants along the way. Was tough to hike up to the first fall. The actual canyoning was crazy fun.

Amazing couple of days, great way to experience the rainforest if you’re tight on time

We thoroughly enjoyed this trip! Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of the rainforest so we learned a lot! The food was great and there were so many activities included. I can't recommend this trip and Geotours enough :) they helped us with several tours while we were in Banos

Great experience, Paulo was a great guide, very knowledgeable and engaging. If you don't have time to do the multiday tour of the jungle I highly recommend this tour to see some of the Amazon! 

This was by far the highlight of our trip to Ecuador!! We absolutely loved our experience in Puyopungo with our fantastic guide, Polo. On the first day, we saw a bunch of beautiful waterfalls on the drive from Baños to Puyo; stopped at a fun market with foods we had never seen before; visited monkeys, ocelots, coati, turtles, parrots, etc. at the animal rescue center (a mama monkey and her baby sat on my shoulders for almost 15 min!); had lunch at a great restaurant in the “campo” called Cafe Nico; hiked to a beautiful waterfall and learned about medicinal and edible jungle plants along the way (and swung from a vine like Tarzan!); took a canoe ride to and from a Quechua community that welcomed us with a traditional dance, yucca drink, and blow dart lessons; had a delicious dinner; found caimans in a lagoon at night; and slept in a cabana by the river at the local shaman’s property (and met him and his wife)! The next day was equally as exciting: we started with another visit to the caiman lagoon; then drove to a cacao farm where we had a wonderful farm-fresh breakfast and learned how to make chocolate from scratch; then embarked on a 3-4 hour jungle hike where we learned a lot more about medicinal and edible jungle plants and found La Cascada Escondida: the hidden waterfall! That waterfall was the best part of our whole trip to Ecuador. You had to swim to it in order to see it and, once we did, we felt like we were alone in the jungle, in a beautiful place that not many had seen. It was a powerful source of good energy! After hiking back out, we had another great lunch at Cafe Nico and then drove back to Baños. We can’t speak highly enough of our amazing guide, Polo. He was so knowledgeable about local flora and fauna, so patient and accommodating the whole trip, and really went above and beyond by making us jungle jewelry, like a crown, necklace and bracelet. Thank you, Polo! We will never forget our time with you :)

We had a blast paragliding! It was so much less scary and more relaxing than we imagined. Of course the views were incredible. Our pilot (Dario) was fantastic, and everybody who helped out that day was very nice to us. We highly recommend it!

We loved horseback riding in Banos! Everyone with Geotours was very nice and accommodating, and our horseback riding guide was great. He was kind and helpful, as this was our first time horseback riding. He had knowledge of the plants and history of the area and we had wonderful views from the trail. Highly recommend!

Amazing tour. Wonderful guides. My girlfriends first time zip lining. So much fun.

SO AMAZING. Polo and Jefferson were so knowledgeable and fun. Great food, fun adventures, and lots of learning about different animals/traditions/cultures. Only wish I could've done a multiple-day tour - next time I'm in Ecuador for sure!

Rafting

We had a great time and learned a lot! Our guide was wonderful and the trip was very memorable. There were a few things I definitely wish were done differently, however. First, the packing list we were given was totally insufficient. We had to scramble to repack into day bags because we were told when we arrived that our carry-on sized bags were too large to come in the van. There was also a lack of communication about what exactly we'd be doing, which things were flexible and which were required, etc. So we constantly felt like we were in the dark on what was coming next and didn't feel like we had much agency in determining the agenda. Sometimes we felt like we had gotten in over our heads with some of the hikes, but we had no choice but to soldier on. For example, what was supposed to be a 4-hour hike turned out to be a pretty strenuous 6 hours including a waterfall reachable only by swimming up river. And a brief sunset vista turned out to be a slippery hike up a cliff side followed by a harrowing hike back down in the dark. It was a bit more than we would have chosen to do with our kids (age 9 and 11) but we survived to tell the tale and made plenty of memories in the process!

The combo was worth the price! We had a fun party bus with led lights on the way there. Fitting for helmets water shoes and life jacket was a breeze, even for my size 13" feet. Lunch afterwards is included and was okay. Afterwards zip line they gave us the choice of extreme version with via ferata or a calmer one over the jungle. We just the extreme version and loved the experience. Rafting pictures/videos were included for free. Zip line you had to pay for pics. Definitely recommend!

Carlos was an amazing guide. He was very knowledgeable and personable. We spent two days with him and felt like we were in the company of a friend. We had great food, helped make hot chocolate from cacao beans, tried grubs (delicious!), saw rescued animals including big cats and monkeys, and hiked to gorgeous waterfalls. I highly recommend this tour and most importantly I recommend Carlos!
