THE LODGING on the Osa:

OCEAN FOREST Eco Lodge:

The retreat center, Ocean Forest, is located right next to Corcovado National Park, often referred to as Costa Rica's little Amazon. It is also located right by Caño Island, known to be one of the best scuba and snorkel destinations in Costa Rica.

If glamping on a tropical beach,  in the rain forest, immersed in tropical nature and wildlife, sounds magical, this 7 night retreat is for you! However, this retreat is not for everyone. It is in a remote location without modern comforts and conveniences. Ocean Forest is an Ecolodge, not a hotel or resort, it is an eco experience! There is no air conditioning and not all cabins have hot water. Cold showers are a great way to cool off, because it will most likely be hot!

THE WEATHER:

It will be the beginning of Costa Rica's green/rainy season. We will experience tropical rain, sometimes heavy! Average weather patterns are clear mornings and sun with rain arriving in the mid to late afternoon, heavier at night. But it will of course be a surprise! Part of our practice of adventure, adaptability, and equanimity!

We will also have sun shine, which means a good chance of rainbows! The green season is lush and brings out wild life. It also means there will be ripe fruit like mangoes! The green season is also whale watching season and often turtle nesting time. Temperatures average in the upper 80's to low 90's dropping to lower 80's high 70's at night. We should expect high humidity. The ocean temperature averages around 83 degrees, so fabulous for swimming! And there are rivers and waterfalls to explore!

We will have daily yoga and meditation, as well as options for activities and excursions. There is so much to do and explore right around the grounds of the Ecolodge.

Thank you, Jennifer, for introducing me to Yelapa! What a wonderful community. And our yoga retreat cohort was such a fantastic group of people. I appreciate that you were able to accommodate me and my sister having side-by-side rooms, with a connecting door on our patios, too! The food was outstanding. The pace of the trip was perfect. Plenty to do for those who like a more active retreat. And for those, like me, who prefer a slower pace with less socializing, it was great, too. It was a judgment-free and safe space. I couldn't get enough of the saltwater pool and hot tub. What luxury! The view and being right on the ocean was amazing. I could go on but you get the idea. My sister and I are already discussing the possibility of going again next year. Thank you, thank you, thank you! ♥

This trip was awesome: well planned, beautiful surroundings, delicious food, amazing people. Loved it.

Wow, what an amazing week! Jennifer and her lovely team put on such a thoughtful retreat. From the food, to the excursions, this week was full of genuine connection, playing on the beach, waterfall hikes, mouth watering food, laughs, and yoga to top it all off. We had beautiful ocean views from the yoga deck where whales just happened to be playing with their babies, and parrots chirping at us from above. Jennifer is so good at tapping into the groups energy and knowing what we needed each day for our yoga experience. I wouldn’t only go again, I can’t wait!! Thank you Jennifer, Lela, and Liz! You all rock.

Another wonderful yoga retreat with Jennifer is in the books. I highly recommend any and all of Jennifer's retreats. She and Liz did an incredible job of orchestrating the entire trip from our arrivals in PV, first night dinner in PV, water taxi and luggage transportation to Pura Vita, room selections, meals, excursions AND lots of wonderful yoga and dharma conversations the entire week. There was a good amount of structured time with various other options as well, or time to explore on your own was always allowed and encouraged. It was a great balance and answered everyone's different needs. Jennifer is an incredible yoga teacher with such a big and generous heart. Her love of life and adventure is infectious! She makes you feel comfortable in your body and the level you are at with your yoga practice. Her knowledge and guidance in all things yoga are invaluable. All and all I can not recommend enough Jennifer, Pura Vita and Yelapa. It is all so magical!!!

So grateful I was able to participate in this amazing experience for a second year. It was an outstanding retreat that brought people of different ages, yoga abilities, and from different places together to not only practice yoga in a gorgeous place, but to have fun. Yelapa is a magical place with a deep history. Seeing whales, parrots, pelicans and butterflies each day from the yoga platform was awe-inspiring. Jennifer is an exceptional teacher who respects and accepts everyone, and makes yoga accessible no matter what level a person practices. I highly recommend this experience.
