The 4-day Inca Trail was the best hike I’ve ever taken. And I’m glad I did it with AB Expeditions. Yes it is challenging, but very rewarding. The group we had was small, 7 trekkers total. This makes it easier to keep track during the trip. Our guide, Ricardo, was amazing. He had thorough knowledge of Incan culture and kept us constantly updated of the day’s activities and made sure that our trek was enjoyable. Vladimir, the photographer, took great photos, sometimes random ones. It’s almost like having a personal photographer. Nicanor, the chef, prepared great meals. We always had hot beverage for breakfast. For lunch and dinner, there was always an appetizer, entree, and dessert. And this was something we never expected. Juan, the head porter, made sure that the tents were set up before we arrived in the camp. Overall, it was a great experience. All you need to do is walk, eat, and sleep. It couldn’t get any simpler than that. I highly recommend AB Expeditions.

I booked on AB Expeditions based on the high ratings they have received on Trip Advisor and other platforms. We had Giovanni Berdejo as our guide. The driver and Giovanni came to pick us up at our hotel on time. The vehicle was very comfortable, new and clean! This ended up being a private tour as no one else joined. We visited Chincherro (Textile) where women demonstrated how they use plants or other natural materials to color the alpaca wool. We got to see some Llamas, Alpacas too and feed them. There's a store in the front where genuine alpaca wool items are sold. My spouse, son bought three sweaters. Manager was friendly and did give us discounts for multiple item purchases. This did take about 45 mins as the items are not inexpensive and we had to find the right size, color etc. We then headed outside to learn about the Chincherro area, surrounding scenery etc. Then we went to Moray salt flats which was very nice to see up close. We also visited Moray ruins where Giovanni explained the significance of the platform circles built by Incas to experiment with various crops, temperature, wind conditions etc. at various altitudes It's a beautiful site. Lastly, we were supposed to visit Pisac but since it was much farther away, it was suggested that we visit Ollantaytambo that day and do Pisac the following day (as part of the 2 day Macchu Picchu tour we also booked with the same company). We climbed to the top of Ollantaytambo and Giovanni did a great job of explaining the history, all the important facts about each place we visited. He even shared his whatsapp number and we keep in touch every so often. He brought some excellent maps, books to explain the history, architecture of the places we visited. I will highly recommend this company because the guide that day was knowledgeable and very pleasant. He even took many good photos of us and the surroundings too at times. AB Expeditions is very good with communication/updates any time you reach out to them via Whatsapp. Eddy (his real name? lol) was great answering many questions we had prior to booking the trip. While the prices may seem a bit higher compared to Viator, the quality exceeds other companies any day. If I were to visit Peru again, I will definitely use this company's services again. NOTE: Lunch is not included in this tour. We were taken to a nice restaurant where they had Vegetarian options and we gladly paid for our guide's lunch as well.
