I actually can't describe the experience in words. I have struggled to do so for over a year now. As I sit here and TRY to type this review-- I can't. I'm getting teary eyed reminiscing. The friendships, the food, the guides, Shan, our resorts, the activities, the safari.... the list goes on and on. But I give the journey through Africa 5 stars and I give Shan all my love and gratitude for taking on the challenge to bring groups of strangers to THE MOTHERLAND. Truly unforgettable and I can't wait to do it again! I have never wanted to double back and repeat a trip -- BUT Kenya and Tanzania -- see you again soon.

My 12 year old Aadynn and I went to Colombia with Self Care Retreat and I honestly experienced more than I expected! The sessions really cultivated deeper conversations between Aadynn and I which I really loved. We already have such a great relationship and I didn't think it could get any deeper but it did. The accommodations were quite interesting! The bathroom was partially indoors and outdoors with an open air concept overhead the shower. I never thought I could get used to our little lizard friend visiting the shower but we did! LOL That's a part of creating long lasting travel memories -- experiencing and embracing the unexpected. Everything was so green and well cared for and pretty! The pool was a favorite and walking to the shoreline every night was so peaceful. A huge part of the trip was Aadynn making lasting friendships with other daughters who came with their moms. Likewise, I have maintained friendships with some of the moms I met on the trip. That was a sweet treat. A big thank you to Shan for being such a sweet host and having the absolute warmest group leaders each time we did an activity. They all made the experience so worth it! OK-- now let's get into this food! FRESHHHHH pescetarian meals, fruit and veggies galore, smoothies and the tastiest fries for a week! YES! Sign me up again. We loved the food! Thanks again Shan!
