Gift yourself this week of Self-Care in Mexico at Mar De Jade Retreat Center and go back home feeling rejuvenated, reconnected and inspired. Let Amber and Colleen lead you through a week of invigorating morning yoga classes and evening workshops focusing on Ayurveda, the science of living in rhythm with yourself and the seasons. The workshops include learning about and practicing self Abhyanga (oil massage), living harmoniously with the seasons through diet and lifestyle, and guided restorative yoga.. Midday you will have the opportunity to relax pool/ocean side or receive a four handed oil massage from Colleen and Amber. While you relax in paradise, enjoy a one-on-one personalized Ayurvedic consultation with Colleen, certified Ayurvedic Practitioner, and dive deep into how the wisdom of this ancient medical science can benefit YOU! This retreat center is unique because the ocean is literally steps from your room, the yoga space and the dining area. Farm to table meals lovingly prepared from their own garden will be served 3 times a day. If you choose, you can partake in the many activities provided such as whale watching, hikes through the jungle, boat rides, exploring remote beaches, snorkeling, and detoxing in the Temazcal Sweat Lodge.
A portion of proceeds from guests’ stays at Mar de Jade support its non-profit programs, operated by MDJ Community Projects, which currently include: El Jardín, a Montessori – Waldorf inspired K – 6 school in Chacala; La Aldea, a trade school for youth who have dropped out of secondary school because of economic hardship; and El Rancho, an Organic Farm that supplies many of the products for Mar de Jade’s delicious meals.
In 1989, Mar de Jade established MDJ Community Projects, a non-profit organization which has supported initiatives from health and wellness programs, youth education, to sustainability and micro-industry projects. All projects are powered by the revenue we make from Mar de Jade, individual donations, and small grants. Over the last three decades, these projects have had an incredibly meaningful impact on the lives of at-risk youth and struggling families in our local communities.
